What do those who criticized Giuliani for his affair have to say about Edwards?

Giuliani at least married his mistress. Also, he was not carrying on behind his dying wife's back.

What has become, or should have become very apparent is that being a philanderer is not a liberal or conservative issue - its a human issue. Whether its Senator Craig, Giuliani, Clinton, Edwards, McCain and many, many others on both sides of the aisle. It is very prevalent in our political culture unfortunately

First of all, I have never criticized any political figure about his affairs. But I do think there are two critical differences. One, the Republican Party has made the sanctity of marriage a core message. Among other notable points, it is the basis for the party's opposition to gay marriage.

The second difference is that Edwards was a private citizen, not an officeholder and not a candidate. (Yes, it muddies the waters some that he later became a presidential candidate. The most valid criticism of Edwards I have heard is not that he committed adultery, but that he could ask so many people to invest their time, money and dreams in his candidacy, when he knew it could blow sky high at any moment. Shame on Edwards the politician for that.)

And not that it matters, but since you brought it up, he was not carrying on "behind his dying wife's back." She was thought to be in remission at the time. In any events, I don't believe there are shades of adultery.

they both have no respect .whether it was in front or behind the backs of the ones who stood by them.lets not forget gulliani made sure and pulled some springs to put his mistress on tax payers payroll by getting her a job over the 100 of others who were more qualified.

You're right. At least McCain married his mistress... after carrying on behind his crippled wife's back.

    Pot, meet kettle.

Double liberal standard of course, its 'okay' that Clinton committed multiple adulterous affairs, its okay that Edwards had his bimbo on the side, but its not okay if a Republican does it.

    Vote McCain in 08

Why not discuss the candidate running for President that actually had an affair?

"Over the next six months, Mr. McCain pursued Miss Hensley aggressively, flying around the country to see her, and he began to push to end his marriage. Friends say that Carol McCain was in shock."

In both instances... I don't care. And that extends to Ginrich, McCain, JFK, FDR, Clinton and half of Hollywood. Who cares?

No it wasn't like Mc Cain also. Obama is not involved

I didn't criticize either. We don't know what goes on in these people's lives.
