Has anyone found a way to deal with those crab grass like weeds with the long roots that come up with in the flower bed. I keep trying to pull them up and I can't keep up with it anymore.

If you spray the grass with a weed killer it will kill the entire plant, including the roots. You may have to spray it several times until it is totally dead. If you pull it, there will be root fragments left in the soil and each of them will sprout giving you more grass than you had in the first place.

When you do your beds next year put down plastic, then your dirt. Also a couple inches of mulch helps.

Try Roundup...its safe, only kills what you spray it on.you can buy concentrate which is stronger than ready to use and goes farther.
