Does anyone know of a....
company that would cover my renters insurance with guns in the home? I rent where I live and I can't find anyone to cover the guns under the insurance. By the way I live in New Hampshire.

NRA adds $1000.00 worth of insurance on firearms free, but you have make make certain that you have photo's and serial numbers etc for each one (you should have that anyway). most renters insurance companies will add a rider policy specifically for firearms coverage for an extra charge. I also see an ad in shotgun news all the time for a company that insures firearms collections. Pick up a copy at barnes and noble or other book stores and look thru the ads.

Give State Farm a call if you have one there.
Not only are they probably the best insurance outfit in the country, but they assisted me with renters insurance and firearms in the past.
Bascially you're just looking for additional coverage if the guns value are greater than the generic amount of coverage that comes with your policy. You likely have to get apprasials or receipts for the value of the guns but you have to do that with any insurance company.

unless your policy specifically mentions that it does NOT cover firearms, it does...up to the price limit of the policy.
If you need additional coveage, you can get an add-on policy.
As stated, NRA has some insurance, but it has been $1000 for many years now. Once that would have covered 2 deer rifles, 2 shotguns, a handgun and a pair of inexpensive 22 rifles, but now it barely covers a single deer rifle plus a shotgun.

The best insurance you can get is a good quality gunsafe and bolt it to the floor. Also, when you do purchase insurance, the gunsafe may lower your premiums.
