Don't you mean...Why does God allow you to cry?

  • This is a short question and I will try to share with you what I think you mean. First let me say that I have been at a stage in my life when I felt like I couldn't cry and didn't seem to have any right emotions. After I accepted Jesus into my life as my Lord and Saviour I knew what real love was, and He changed my life and my heart. God has made my heart more tender and I am able to feel things in a way that I never could before.

I love with such a passion and depth that I never knew without Him. I thank God that I can cry now. I feel like God makes our hearts more tender so we can have the kind of love that we should have for Him and other people, so we can have compassion on people, so we will not be high minded, and so our hearts won't harden. ( where we can't feel the right emotions anymore ) I cry when I feel how much God loves me, I cry sometimes when I pray for people because I am touched by their problems, I cry with tears of joy when words would just get in the way, and I also cry sometimes when God shows me things. ( it's a good kind of crying ) There are a lot of different reasons to cry, what matters is not only what you are crying about , but who do you cry to? If you are crying because you are broken and hurting don't just cry to yourself, but cry to God; With the desire for Him to help you and the anticipation that He will. God is touched by our tears, and when you need to, cry on His shoulder in Jesus name.

Psalms 6:6 I am weary with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears.

7 Mine eye is consumed because of grief; it waxeth old because of all mine enemies.

8 Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the LORD hath heard the voice of my weeping.

9 The LORD hath heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer.

Psalms 34:18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

I hope this answers you question. Thanks for asking.

    Sincerely, Andrew

Tears represent the heart, the spirit and the soul of a person. To put a lock and key on your emotions is to bury part of your Christlikeness. Especially when you come to Calvary. You can't go to the cross with just your head and not your heart. It doesn't work that way. Calvary is not a mental trip. It's not an intellectual exercise. It's not a divine calculation or a cold theological principle. It's a heart-splitting hour of emotion. Don't walk away from it dry-eyed and unstirred. Don't just straighten your tie and clear your throat. Don't allow yourself to descend Calvary cool and collected. Please...Pause! Look again. Those are nails in those hands. That's God on that cross. And it's us who put Him there.

God gave us emotions, God Himself has emotions. He does NOT make us cry. I don't cry very much at all and on the rare occasion that I do, I certainly wouldn't say that God made me cry LOL..that's just silly.

He doesn't make 'me' cry. I make myself cry when I see all the crap that is in this sinful world! (My heart breaks and I cry.)

Mean and delusional people make me cry.

I admit I cried during "The Passion of the Christ" when Jesus was tortured and his mother realized that he would die. But the tears were for her, not for him.

He takes the people I love away from me forever.
