Anyone tried that KFC Vegetarian Chicken Burger yet?

Let's hear your review of this menu item (only if you have tried eating it, or have some insight into the ingredients, or preparation).

No theories or speculation please.

Yes I already realize that it may be cross contaminated on the preparation surface or the cooking surface or by the food handler.

Have you eaten one yet?

Is the mayo vegan? Likely not, but anyone confirm this yet?

I haven't tried it, since I don't live in Canada.

The mayo is not vegan. PETA says: "The sandwich features a crispy vegan faux-chicken patty, and you can easily make the delicious treat totally vegan by asking for it in a wrap and without mayo."

There will never be vegan or vegetarian options at fast-food chains unless vegetarians and vegans support them. Most meat-eaters tell me that they would consider going veg if it were more convenient. This veg "chicken" sandwich option is a huge step in the right direction, in my opinion.

If you're Canadian you can go to PETA's website and they have a coupon for KFC where you can buy one veggie chicken burger and get one free. I haven't tried it yet but I think it is deep fried in the same batter as their chicken is and it says on the KFC Canadian website that the burger is only considered vegan if you have it in a wrap instead of a bun and if you have it without mayo. I think it will taste good and I want to try one.

i don't think of it particularly concerns that KFC or the different place has vegetarian/vegan thoughts, its unlike they have a seperate grill for the veg thoughts, so in essence you're nonetheless ingesting the beef. this is why I refuse to consume quickly foodstuff (different than Subway because of the fact they're very sparkling). I nonetheless does not consume there.

It's a "vegetarian" burger so why would the mayo be "vegan"?

I'm sure someone has tried it but I am not that someone as I don't live in Canada.

It's kind of hypocritical that PETA is happy about this considering it does nothing to relieve the suffering of the chickens at the hands of their providers. The whole Pam Anderson appearance and hoopla is a celebration of nothing accomplished.

"If you're Canadian you can go to PETA's website and they have a coupon for KFC where you can buy one veggie chicken burger and get one free." Sad. This product is for vegetarians so it changes nothing regarding the treatment of the chickens. Meat eaters aren't going to try it. There's plenty of veggie burgers out there. If meat eaters were going to try it, they would have already. I guess the only thing it accomplishes is that vegetarians have something to order if they're in there due to uncontrollable circumstances.

The mayo isn't vegan, and neither is the bun. The patty isn't even vegetarian; it's cooked in chicken fat.

Any veg*n who gives KFC money is out of their mind. It's obviously a ploy to try and win back the people who call KFC out on their disgusting practices. I won't be fooled, sorry.

Never tried it probably never will.

They finally got a veggie burger that's great but they still torture animals or support places that do. I don't want to support that.

And why would they put mayo on a Veggie burger??? That confuses me! haha =)

    I'm a Vegan =)
