Would someone clarify my political position to me?
I am a socialist economically, it is my social stance I must clarify. I am pro-choice except in cases of it being used as primary birth control or when they override the wishes if a man who wants the child. I am for altering civil unions to having the same rights as marriage and letting gays have them (so the Church gets no say). I am against Affirmative Action of all kinds, and I am pro-women getting into the draft and equal pay. I do not like birth control, however, and I am against sex and violence being ubiquitous in the media.
I apologise, I simply want to know what I am...

You're Oleanderian.
I think you'd probably enjoy some of the topics I cover in this forum. I'll have to send you a link next time I feel like starting a debate.
I'm glad to see you can think for yourself rather than follow a party.

Like most people, one party's platform doesn't fit all of your beliefs. But since you call yourself a socialist economically, and that seems to be your most consistent issue, I'd call you a socialist.
As far as Republican vs. Democrat, that's determined by your voting pattern more than anything else. Whatever your top voting issues are determine your political leaning.

an independent thinker. i like people like you (even though i disagree with some of those positions)
you don't need a label! i know u asked for one, but really! be happy just thinking on your own without a label. i urge you :]

Democrats would probably call you an extreme right wing fascist (because not ALL of your beliefs align with theirs), but * I * would say you are an independent... Independents can be either libertarian or populist.
It sounds to me like libertarian.

Why do you have to have a label? How about a Jeffersonian humanist or a liberal with exceptions, or a conservative with exceptions, or how about a really cool person with a mind of your own.

Left leaning centrist. Technically "left and right" has more to do with economics then social issues - but it gets turned into that.

You may differ with them on very few points, but you're still a liberal.

You sound fairly liberal to me. You don't need a label, you can just have your own opinions.
