In this world of social and environmental disorder...?
do you think that the ENTIRE world (ALL religions, or lack thereof) could have something to learn from St. Francis of Assisi?
He came from a very wealthy family and could have had just about anything in a world that had nothing...but renounced it all to devote himself to helping others...even giving them the shirt off his back (literally)...although he did have a slight fear of lepers...he also greatly revered the natural world as being divine in nature and that it should be protected
whether you are a Christian, Pagan, Muslim...whatever, what do you think? Can we ALL learn from him?
Thank You Serenity for taking a little time to answer my question

As a follower of Asatru, Germanic Paganism, I can whole heartedly say yes we can all learn from him. I also completely agree with his attitude to nature, although many believe Pagans are devil worshipers we actually revere nature and all Pagan religions are based on the yearly cycle. It doesn't matter religion, if any, someone is helping others is good manners. Although realistically we couldn't all go to the lengths Francis did we could all do a few good deeds, like if you are a driver and someone is waiting to cross the road and it is raining stop for them, few people do that these days. Or give up your seat on the bus for a pregnant woman, whilst heavily pregnant with my son I had to carry heavy bags and people just looked away.
