Will the deal between Poland & America make our country a target in the future by Russia?
The signing on August 14 of an agreement between the governments of the United States and Poland to deploy on Polish soil US ‘interceptor missiles’ is the most dangerous move towards nuclear war the world has seen since the 1962 Cuba Missile crisis. Far from a defensive move to protect European NATO states from a Russian nuclear attack, as military strategists have pointed out, the US missiles in Poland pose a total existential threat to the future existence of the Russian nation. The Russian Government has repeatedly warned of this since US plans were first unveiled in early 2007. Now, despite repeated diplomatic attempts by Russia to come to an agreement with Washington, the Bush Administration, in the wake of a humiliating US defeat in Georgia, has pressured the Government of Poland to finally sign the pact. The consequences could be unthinkable for Europe and the planet.
Previously as part of the post Cold War agreements with the US, agreements which have been ´significantly ignored by Washington as it pushed the borders of NATO ever closer to Moscow’s doorstep, the Soviet Union had abandoned such missiles in accordance with the START I Treaty.
From the observation of the equipment that Russia is using it appears that their Military Equipment has been updated... why would Georgia provoke the Russians into taking action?

It definitely makes Poland a target
and when Georgia is admitted to NATO
Russia is guaranteed to have a reaction
Russia is trying to assert itself as a military power
and needs an enemy
they will not take on the U.S. straight on, but a proxy war through one of the former Soviet countries may be more likely.

I disagree with several of the premises upon which this question is based.
US missiles in Poland are not as much of an existential threat to Russia than the ICBMs in Kansas cornfields and Polaris's on submarines.
Poland, following the invasion of Georgia, leapt at the chance to sign the missile deal after seeing what Russia did to Georgia.
If by our country you mean the US then target for what? Russian missiles? We already are. That deal where the US and Russia stopped aiming missiles at each other takes about all of a minute to undo.

If we don't want Russian missiles in Cuba and for good reason, I can understand why Russia wouldn't want our missiles in Poland. I do understand Iran is thorn in everyone's side, however Russia has a
bit more control over Iran than does most countries, so if Russia feels
it is being treated fairly, most likely Russia will do more to contain
Iran and dangerous missiles can be kept to a minimum. We need to work together in this day and age if the human race is to survive. Total
destruction of life on earth is way too possible and everyone had better do their part to prevent this from bringing us all to an end!

Wake up everyone...just because the Berlin wall came down and there was no more USSR..what did we think happened to all those "Commies?" They have been laying low all these years, just waiting to return Russia to its old glory days and we have been in a state of incredible ignorance. Remember that "Denile" is not a river in Egypt. Since I was a child, I was taught the Rooskies were the bad guys and we were the good guys. I grew up in the shadow of the fear of nuclear war and truthfully, I never stopped fearing it. We have been too busy being afraid of Alcaida and forgot about Russia. Putin is not Gorbachov. I dont like the man, I dont trust the man and truthfully, he looks like he wants to take over the world. The worst thing we can do is to back down and show that we are weak. Russia is like the bully on the playground...if you stand upto him, you will be surprised to find out he may be just as scared as you are. God protect us.

First, I have not seen or heard anything that even hints at a "humiliating defeat" in Georgia. As for the U.S. deploying missile defense in Poland, that is a decision to be made between Poland and the U.S., two sovereign countries. This is a defensive, not aggressive, move. Putin is a bully and is not to be trusted.

You subscribe to some of the most twisted logic I have yet to see. To say that missile defense is more than a defensive move requires idiocy beyond measure. That is the single dumbest thing anyone has ever tried to pawn off on the ignorant masses. Especially considering that Putin was offered the opportunity to participate in the program.

I don't think we ever ceased being a target for Russia. They still saw us as there biggest rival after the Soviet Union collapsed. The US hasn't pushed NATO towards the Russians door step, Countries that were formaly controlled by the Soviets (Warsaw Pact countries) decided they didn't want to play with the new regime either. How is that the US pushing NATO?

We have used atomic bombs, they have used chemical weapons. I think that before we would get involved with russia in war, other countries would also attempt to stop the possibilty nuclear war and if anything, go with a conventional war. This way people(countries) that are not involved with the war won't be affected with nuclear fallout and other effects. This is just what i think.

All anti-missile defenses will be the first priority in the nuclear war or nuclear war provocations.
So in the case the things will go worse Poland and all anti-missile defenses will be nuked\destroyed first.

Humiliating US defeat in Georgia? You must be a script writer for Putin, eh?
Its pretty obvious you aren't an American nor are you a loyal citizen of the US...you are merely a trouble maker and provoker living in Russia, pretending to be an American.
