Will Obama go down in the polls if he fails to pick Hillary as VP?
If he picks her there can be a unified, celebration at the convention, and the ticket will be more moderate and qualified for international challenges. If he picks anyone else, strong Clinton supporters could easily "go with the current flow" away from Obama. I am interested in thoughtful views only, please.

You are right. But here's the real deal. Hillary does not want the VP offer. But she doesn't wish to be seen as not wanting it. You see,Obama can get elected with Hillary's help as VP. But then he would win re-election and that would put Hillary's political ambitions on hold for 8 years, and after 8 years, the public may want the latest Replican rising star in office.. Here best bet is for Obama to be defeated , and she will then run in 2012 and would get the victory then. All is not as it seems in the world of politics.

It depends on who his other choice is... I cannot believe women who supported Hillary could ever vote for MCain, but anything is possible.
I think Hillary would be a very smart pick. True she has baggage, & we'll have to hear about that sniper thing til our ears bleed, and she may be thinking ahead 4 years.
Plus, Bill still seems bitter, and that would be counter-productive. He won't even come out and endorse Obama with any sincerity...
This is such a crucial issue, I hope he doesn't screw up like Gore did picking Lieberman.

He seems to be going down in the polls no matter what he does. If he picks Hillary, it will turn off a lot of voters and if he doesn't it will turn off a lot of others.
