Birth control pills only work if taken everyday at the same time or within an hour, they don't work like the morning after pill...it takes about 2 weeks for the pill to become effective.
If you had unprotected sex and don't want to risk an unwanted pregnancy then i suggest you get to the chemist quick smart and get the morning after pill, it's effective for up to 72 hours after having sex.

the pill only works if you have been taking them regulary, on a shedule for ATLEAST one month. it takes a month for them to become effective so dont start having unprotected sex after 3 days on the pill or you will be suprised when you turn up pregnant. what you need is an emergency contraceptive. the sooner you take one after sex the more likely it is to prevent pregnancy HOWEVER, if the sperm has already penetrated the egg and you take the pill, the emergency contraceptive is NOT effective. you can usually buy an emergency contraceptive from your local pharmacy without a prescription so just go check it out.

lol well the birth control pills cant prevent pregnancy unless you have been on them for a longer amount of time and but i think you are thinking of the morning after pill and hun they wont give it to you unless you have been violated so if you are pregnant stop taking those pills and if you don't know don't take anymore until after you find out and just don't have sex until you find out and if you are not then get on the pill and don't have unprotected sex everrrrrrr unless of course you are married but if you aren't i don't suggest you having unprotected sex with all these diseases out there. good luck hun.

Very rarely can you get pg while on the pill.....but as long as you take your pill everyday and don't miss a day you are good and there is a slim chance of pregnancy and it will help ease your mind if you guys use condoms also...... if it make you feel better get the morning after pill and take that

no it will not prevent you from getting pregnant. the only pill that will do that is plan b emergency contraceptive pill. available at most drug stores but you have to be over 18 or have someone get it for you that is over 18

Nope it won't work. Go and get the morning after pill. That will work. They give them away free at most Planned Parenthood Clinics.

No it will not prevent pregnancy if you have not been taking them regularly.
You have to start taking the pill after you start your period and take it for one whole cycle before you can be safe and prevent pregnancy.

If you had already ovulated, those pills won't do any good. So it will NOT prevent pregnancy.
