what's your opinion?

Question

ok...so i'm 37 weeks pregnant, dilated to 2cm, lost my mucus plug yesterday, and the baby's head is engaged at -1 station. i walked around walmart for an hour last night, and started having contractions on the way home in the car. they lasted well into the night, but finally stopped a few hours after i went to bed. they weren't regular contractions, but they were much stronger than the regular braxton hicks contractions i've been having. this morning, i woke up feeling fine, and now my contractions have started again. they are much further apart than they were last night, but are much more painful! last night, i was having about 4 strong contractions an hour, and now today i'm having about 2 really, really strong contractions an hour. could i be ready to go into full blown labor soon, or is this just false labor?

Um Real Labor, call your doctor and pack your bag just in case he may make you stay.

It sounds like true labor, you contractions just aren't regular yet. I'd call your dr and tell them. They'll probably tell you to wait until their 5 mins apart (they did me) but yeah they suck. Walk around some more and if you get them regular, every 8 mins apart, I'd go ahead and go to the hospital. I went to the hosp. contracting every 3 mins, and was 2cm dialated, and I got sent home!! If I could go back in time, I would have told the dr I'm not going anywhere until I deliver. Best of luck to you! Lots of Labor Dust! :-)

2 an hour is too soon to head to the hospital, but it does sound like it wont be long.  37 weeks is full term, so it is not too soon.  Call your doctor and let her know what has been going on, and make sure you and your partner's bags are packed and either in the car with the car seat, or by the front door.

Sounds like real labor to me. I have heard it happen just like that. So I would call your doctor right now! Because you could be just about ready to have your little one, being in labor that long.

I suppose folks can suppose loose to have the opinion that they wish. They must be equipped to specific there opinion, and people who concentrate (which must be plenty of folks) must have an open brain, and perhaps difference there opinion. Some evaluations won't develop into something, however it doesnt imply there nugatory. Even if no one treasures your opinion, you must. Its what makes you who you're.

sounds like labor.
Get a bag packed if you haven't already and wait for the contractions to get closer together.
When they are 5 minutes apart make your way to hospital.
