Opinions on middle names...?

In Greek tradition, we name the our children after grandparents. In my case if its a boy, he will be named Nicholas after my father n law. If its a girl, she will be named Joanna after my mother. I'm leaning towards Nicholas Alexander which I love for a boy, but I'm having a hard time finding a middle name for Joanna...I don't really like the name that much, but I have no choice, I want to honor my mother. The only thing I can think of is Joanna Marie. I can't think of anything that flows nicely. Unfortunately, we have a really loooong Greek last name that starts with an S and ends with an S and is 4 syllables. LOL. Anybody have any ideas on something that flows nicely? Please, no trendy names like Madison or Kaylee. It has to be a biblical name that can be translated to Greek for her baptism. Thanks!

It's very special that you want to continue the tradition of your family and culture. Joanna is actually a very lovely name and has the advantage of working well in many different languages.

Some names that might work well as middle names are:

    Joanna Helen

    Joanna Chloe

    Joanna Grace

    Joanna Faith

    Joanna May

    Joanna Charis

    Best wishes!

    Here are a few suggestions

    Joanna Celine

    Joanna Karissa

    Joanna Rhea

    Joanna Yvonne

All have a good ring to them and you could call her by the middle name. All of these lend themselves to cute nicknames.

Another suggestion is to pick a name that start with a constanstant letter or a long vowel sound. The vowel sound at the end of Joanna makes it hard not to make it sound funny by saying Joanna Alexis or Joanna Echo.

    Joanna Eve "to breathe"

    Joanna Joel "YAHWEH is God"

    Joanna Rebekah "a snare"

    Joanna Ruth "friend"

I don't really know if I did that right for you. I tried to look some up. I'm not familiar with Greek tradition. I do like the name Joanna tho. It's pretty. Anyway, hope it helped... like I said I don't know if you can even use those names. If not sorry. GOOD LUCK

    I like Joanna Margaret :)

If you don't really lik Joanna, use it as a middle name. There's nothing wrong with that.
