Are your pets acting crazy or strange?

I have a dog and over the last week or so he has been crying in his sleep and stay under me. I feel bad cus I am not sure why he is doing all this. He sleeps all day and walks the floors all night. Is there anything I can do to help him get through this emotional time.

I am 30 weeks

I found that my dog did more when I first found out I was pregnant. She would lie on my lap all night when usually she would go on my partners.

Now, we have stopped her coming up onto the sofa and bought her a new soft, fluffy bed which she loves so she stays in there now so im not sure now I'm further along!!

I have 2 dogs and 2 cats- a male and female of each.

My females seem to love me to death, I can't keep them away. My female cat, who is usually anti-social, lays with me every night curled up right in my body. Before I was pregnant I could never even find her. My female dog has become my shadow, and is having her own false pregnancy. She has even started lactating! It's crazy.

My boys have changed a little, but not much. My male cat will no longer lay on my chest, he only lays on my legs (which is good cause he's a big boy). My male dog has stopped sleeping next to me in bed, he now sleeps in the bedroom doorway, and barks or growls at any sound from the outside world.

  • My one cat who was my "fur baby" ignored me for the first 4 1/2 months of pregnancy. I hardly saw him, it was strange because he would always be beside me any other time. Now he's come back around and is hanging out with me again. He'll head-but my belly and the baby will kick him in the forehead it's like they're playing a game. My other cat never changed a bit yet though.

Pets are very in tune with your emotional state. Perhaps he senses that he is about to be "replaced" by something else in a short while?

My dog started following me around when I was 6 weeks pregnant and is constantly getting under my feet!

my cat was fine until the baby got home... now that i have to worry about him all day i dont have as much time for her anymore and i forget that i even have her sometimes... she will rub up on me just to remind me that she is still here and i pet her no every chance i get just to let her know i still luv her 2 and that i still care... the only bad thing she will do is when im up walk-n with the baby she will lay right in front of me while i walk which really makes me mad because im a little freaked that i would fall with him...

My cat has a fascination with all the new baby things in the house. She sits in the carseat if I leave it out...rolls around the floor in the nursery...sniffs and rubs against the playmat...jumps into the baby swing. She knows something is up.

Your dog can tell things are changing. New things are coming into the house, and he may feel a bit left out. Are you extra busy with baby stuff and then too tired to play with him? He may just be feeling lonely. Try to give him some good one-on-one time to remind him that you still love him.

You know my cat that usually isn't always that lovey, has been all over me lately. Also one of our dogs whines all night long too. Weird! I don't know if they can sense a baby is coming soon. Hmmm...

he could be reacting on what his instincts are telling him maybe giving him exercise at evening might settle him, keep him more active during the day, is he ok like with his health, if he is then I would say he is picking up on what's going on with you
