So who are the false Christians?

Are they Roman Catholics, Baptists, Lutherans, Methodists, Greek Orthodox, JW's, Mormons, Pentecostals?

Come on now - what makes a false Christian? Are they false because they aren't born again? Are they false because they are born again?

It's entirely dependent on who is answering the question...

    Now that's a good question.

Now one can answer that question can they.

If they attempt to answer it they would have to have divine authority to do so since the bible didn't leave them a complete definition.

This would lead to them believing in the concept of revelation which is highly disputed in the Christian religions today. Some demand a closed cannon, while others claim that God's mouth is not closed.

Those who set forth guidlines as it pertains to being a "true" christian is, without declaring authorization, do so in self justification based on their own interpretation.

Well first of all there's no such thing as a Christian who's not born again. All true Christians are born again. As for the false Christians well the whole community is pretty much unified when it comes to not accepting the JW's and Mormons as "True Christians". Its another Jesus and another Gospel. As for Catholics well that's were it gets tricky, from a Protestant point of view while we would not say that all catholics are not true Christians we do believe that Catholicism is more out of touch with scripture and therefore is a false system. But most of all there are lot of "Fake Christians",the true ones are the ones on fire about Jesus. Who love him and seek only him. Many people may profess the faith but show no evidence. As Jesus said you will know them by their fruits, true christian are not the ones in a certain denomination or group of any sort, but the ones who spend there lives seeking after God.

Anyone who denies Jesus is "God in the Flesh" has it wrong.

So, some believe Jesus is a mere angel. Some think Jesus just a glorified human- who through obedience, "worked his way up to being a god"(Mormons).

Catholics believe the statements in the Apostles creed, too, along with mainstream Christianity. But too many Christians of ALL the denominations base their salvation by their "church membership" or the fact they do the rites, prayers, rituals, etc, faithfully- while never really having examined their hearts and repented and received Christ.

They attend Mass and Worship on Sundays, but ask their families what they are actually like at home! Full of petty meaness, short-tempered, drunks- are such really full of Christ? Or just "Churchianity"??

Lots of people in every Christian denomination are just there because "there were raised in it" but have never been born again.

Whose place is it to say, really? I personally think all the groups you mentioned are Christians. I have no idea what criteria makes one better or worse, never mind false. If they believe in Christ (that is, follow his teachings), they're Christian...right?

I think anyone who steps forward and condemns other Christians because they don't fit the mold that person has in his or her mind, that person is arrogant and self-righteous. You CAN'T get inside someone else's head to know their belief system anyway, so why try?

    Yes.

Simply, those who do NOT do the will of God, but claim to, are false Christians.

Matthew 7:21-23 -- "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'

Matthew 12:50 -- For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother." (also in Mark 3:35)

    A quick and easy (and visible) test is, since God says to keep holy the Sabbath day (that is God's will), those who do not, yet claim they know and worship God, are false. {That is not to say all those who keep the Sabbath holy are true -- it goes deeper than that.}

1 John 2:4 -- He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Christ was very clear about what it took to follow him. He didn't leave anything up to interpretation if you read what he taught carefully. Any additions or subtractions from these things are not acceptable.

  • A Christian is somebody who follows the Message of Christ and who believes in the One True God.

    Clay,

I have been attacked by "Christians" more then I have by Non-Christians on here. I do not proclaim Christians as True or as False. I do believe the BIBLE and try to follow it the best of my ability at all times. Have a great weekend and a wonderful week.

    Thanks,

A false christian are ones that aren't christian but pretend to be.

What makes a christian? One who follows the teachings of Christ, or Paul's Christ in any case.

Christians call the other Christians who think differently false.

In many cases, the Christians who can actually think are the ones labeled 'false".

I like to see the hypocrites who think God gave them the right to judge.
