Why are the beatitudes recorded differently in the gospels of Matthew and Luke?

Is this a translation error... similar to Jesus saying you must hate your family to be a follower of Christ?

If two different gospels record the same sermon different ways... and Jesus said the exact opposite of what he meant, how can this be a perfect word of God? Is there a secret code for figuring this kind of thing out, or does everybody just happily make up their own explanations?

Because there were no video cameras then. Matthew was there, Luke did interviews after the fact. Of course the wording is different! You need to research farther to find the truth.

The Greek really says, in Bullinger's Companion Bible, that you have to love your family less than God, not to hate them.

Read and study some more. It will be made clear.

this is what i tell to A LOT of people.....

    for Christians...

if i asked a Christian guy from China to bring his bible...

and i asked a Christian guy from New York to bring his bible...

and i asked a Christian guy from Africa to bring his bible...

IT WILL ALL HAVE DIFFERENT THINGS IN IT!!!

    i promise you...

if you don't go by the old testament... then your not following your religion right....

the old testament is the only right bible.. not new gospels or anything like that...

so the record... i guess the guys have different bibles they go by....

they believe in Jesus being the son of God... but they change what they want....

    buttttttt

if i asked a muslim guy from China to bring his Quran...

and i asked a muslim guy from New York to bring his Quran...

and i asked a muslim guy from Africa to bring his Quran....

    THERE ALL THE SAME!!!!

    i promise you....

you see... Muslim believe in the old testament... BUT only the old testament.. the one that hasnt been changed! ... the Quran has never EVER been changed nor can it ever be changed... no matter how many people try to change it....

    but anyways... good question..
