Why am I a racist for not believing in Obama's polices?

I really not a fan of the Democrats but respected some....some of there ideas. Right now I am having a hard problem trying to be an American and have different opinions. I believe we should drill here, I believe in the War...hell i was in it! Keeping taxes down. These are some of the things I agree with.....why.....cause I am an American! Anyway i am sure every liberal will take shots at me but why am I getting blasted by liberals saying I am racist for this....please give me a good reason why I am? I tired of just being called one for not like what the Dems what to do?

I am sorry you feel this way but as a mother of grown children For you to say you are an American because you believe in keeping taxes down, staying at war implies that only people who believe as you do are American. That may be part of your problem. The idea that to be American is to spend and spend and borrow and borrow.

I took the time to read The Audacity of hope and I am voting for Obama based on the fact that my sons are both in the sciences which McCain and Palin ridicule. I do a lot of community work on bipartisan issues. And his education policies are only a fantasy not a reality and would be very expensive.

You have different policies and issues than I do, that does not matter. But I am concerned that we are not dealing with the debt we owe China and the threat to our economy. The attempt to put intelligent design on any public school agenda. Why not the Hopi creation story?

We have been maxing out our Charge card and now Iraq will be working with China on its development of gas and oil. Its time to wake up and smell the coffee. Being an American to me is taking responsibility for serious thought and participation. It is serving our Country and no taxes plus a continued war is reckless and irresponsible. John McCain used to say that before he sold his soul to the far right wing of the Country.

That I oppose everything you support is not because I am not an "American" I care more about my Country than my tax breaks and am old enough to remember when we had a better balance and more sanity in Government on both sides of the aisle.

Don't let anyone make you feel guilty for not wanting Obama as President. I am not voting for him, but would probably vote for Condalizza Rice or Colin Powell if they ran, why? Because I feel they would be better prepared to get America through these troubled times. There is a war going on, and rushing out of Iraq just to say we're not at war anymore, is not a good enough reason to leave things in a huge mess, that we could fix given the right strategy. If either of the two African-American's I mentioned, or any minority American had a background that suggested they could lead the country in the direction I felt was a positive one, they would get my vote. This is not about race and only the reddest of necks are not voting for Obama because he is black, when there are a ton of legitimate reasons not to vote for him. I can't say that he isn't getting some votes just because he is black either. As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, A man should be judged on the quality of his character, not the color of his skin. Good advice. I can't agree more, just another reason why I'm voting for McCain.

Although, not a liberal Democrat and a moderate Republican...

I first want to thank you for being in the war and fighting for our country. And secondly, there are crazies for every group. But several Democrats (definitely not all) on Y!A tend to make this about race and/or about gender. You will never be able to reason with an unreasonable man/woman.

As an American, we need to be able to state our preferences without being called names. I, too, am voting on the issues. Mine are more on the economic side but I also believe in our troops and our security.

If you are black and you are not going to vote for Obama you are a sellout or you are told to get with the program.

Obama is not only black but he is white, too. So, hopefully people will stop making this a race issue but really in issue about who you believe will make a better leader.

    You go girl!

You are NOT in any way a racist. The presidency shouldn't have anything to do with gender or color...In the end it's the best leader who ends up on top.

You not agreeing with Obama makes you mostly Republican in this election...not RACIST. I see that you have an opinion about the war and taxes, and I'm sure if Obama was white, you would still carry on with your beliefs.

Democrats---It's got nothing to do with race. For example if Candoleeza Rice was running, I'm sure we'd have Republicans voting for her...

One day we'll have a black republican running, and you will all have to stop judging people like this question asker...

If you're being called a racist now wait till the day after election day.... More than half this country, me included, will be "racist" for voting for the white male and female

Even though I am supporting Obama, I am not liberal by any means and don't listen to those clowns that tell you otherwise. You have that right that many (sounds like including you) have fought for and even died for. My parents support McCain and I encourage them to vote. As Americans, we are bigger than political parties. (The one Bush legacy that seems to linger. You are with us or against us.) Only you know in your heart if you are voting against Obama because of his race. But I take most people at their word if they say that they are voting against Obama because of his politics. However, ugly liberals will use ugly politics when they have no other answers. You vote for who you want to vote for. That is your right.

You are not a racist just because you don't vote Obama. I am voting Obama, but I get that some people don't agree with his policies. That's your choice, but no I don't think that makes you racist at all.

YOU NOT RACIST for not believing in Obama polices. You are racist for attacking with venom and hatred of a well qualified man for president. I do think you would give Obama the benifit of the doubt if he was WHITE. that is why you are RACIST. YOU LOOK AT OBAMA COLOR AND SEE THE NEGATIVE AND NOT THE POSITIVE. that Is why you are RACIST. YOU cannot see all his accomplishment and belittle the ones he has. EDUCATION, HUSBAND, SENATOR, STATE SENATOR, CUMMUNITY ACTIVIST......SHINNING EXAMPLE IN THE BLACK NEIGHBORHOODS........but a RACIST WOULD NOT SEE THAT

You're not a racist. How do you propose keeping taxes down and supporting the war? Do you realize that we are borrowing money to pay for the war? Reagan increased the size of government as Bush did while saying they are for limited government but that's not what they did. Do you recognize that?

You're not a racist for "not believing in Obama's polices" but for the words you use to attack.
