If your staying in a air conditioned hotel you won't need it but if your anywhere else yes. I bought one in Thailand for a double bed for 160 baht (5.58 AUS). You can get smaller ones.

Edit: They sell mosquito net everywhere in Thailand.

Agree with Tony My wife got me some Thai ointment which I can't read the label but the company phone is 034322042. I get bitten and rub some of this on a it takes away the itch. Its mentholated so I would guess its similar to Tiger Balm.

Maybe someone who reads Thai can go to this website and tell you what it is, they use it for burns and rashes too.

As has already been stated, if you're staying in an air conditioned hotel you won't need one. Mosquito's don't like the cold. If you are staying in the cities don't worry about malaria carrying mosquito's, they don't go in the cities. If you are going elephant trekking in the jungle you would be advised to obtain malaria tablets from your doctor before you come. You will doubtless get bitten, especially if you wear shorts, which most visitors do. They are more of an itchy nuisance than a danger. They have an ointment here called Tiger Balm which takes the itch out of the bite quite quickly. Many shops sell it. Enjoy your visit.

I do read Thai and have checked the website given by, four war years (oops more years) . The only Thai that appears on it is at the top of the page under WONG PROM HERB. The Thai writing สมุนไพรวังพรม also means WONG PROM HERB, the name of a company in a place called Nakhon Pratom near Bangkok. It is in fact Tiger Balm but most of the Thai people will understand Tiger Balm. They all have some close at hand. Many small shops sell it but if you look for a sign, ขายยา, this translates as, sell medicine, it is used by chemist shops, they will have it for certain.

Source(s): First visited Thailand in 1990. Lived in Pattaya City from 1996 untill 2006 and have lived in a rural, rice growing village, lots of mosquitos and other insects plus snakes and tarntullas, for the last 2 years.

The mozzies in Thailand are man (and woman) eaters.

They are also malarial carriers. It is essential that you take the latest recommended medication.

Also carry something to relieve the bites which you get on your legs in the evenings (even when wearing trousers they will find somewhere) and apply repellent regularly.

yes you can but to make it easier i think putting on the lotion that keep mosquito away is enough and make sure you keep your door and window close all the time. In this case, you dont have to carry a net with you.

Definately but go to your GP for a jab just in case.

Theres also a lotion you can buy to put on to protect yourself.
