Did Governor Palin "knock it out of the park" or not?

Was she as great as the Republican faithful have felt she was or is it all hype?

100% out of the park. Before I really though Obama was going to win - hands down. I though it was all over, now there's a huge fight going on and it's a real war. The Liberal are really afraid of her (why do you think they are out to destroy her so hard and fast? They'll never admit their afraid of this real, genuine, small town vaules, down-to-earth, hockey mom.) Hats off to John MCcain for picking her, a bold move.

Her rhetoric appealed to the Repub base and a partisan audience. She did well at reading a teleprompter. It will probably be a bit different when she has to answer real questions on issues opposite Joe Biden in a debate. A number of her points in the speech were not true and she has already flip-flopped on the project dubbed "the bridge to no where." Her inexperience and sarcasm will be the only things people remember.

If you insist on baseball metaphors, knocking it out of the park with the ultimate in home field advantage (ie the fence is about 8 feet from home plate and no opposing team on the field) is no big deal.

  • Hillary couldn't possibly have even come close within the stadium. The dems couldn't get their act together with Hillary and now they're kicking themself in the "6" and trying to discount barracudas truth serum. It also shows the divisiveness and hypocracy within the dem. party.

    It was all "hype"

Soon everyone will see Palin for what she really is! I bet you don't know

Sarah Palin is currently involved in a political corruption scandal.

She fired an individual in law enforcement here because she didn't

like how he treated one of her relatives during a divorce. The man's

performance and ability weren't considered; it was a totally personal

firing and is currently under investigation. While the issue isn't

close to the scandal of Ted Steven's corruption, it shows that Palin

isn't "squeaky clean" and causes me to think there ay be more issues

that could come to light. Clearly McCain doesn't care.

It was a great speech. Knock it out of the park? If that means certain victory, then no. It is going to be a tight election. I cannot predict who will win this one.

    TT great link.

She did for conservative Republicans. For everyone else...ummm no. Although she did a great job reading the speech that was written for her, she was really saying a whole bunch of nothing. I thought it was quite the show...future, possible, might be son in law who looked like he was there against his will, holding the daughters hand and all.

She sold me! I would have voted McCain anyway although he wasn't my first choice. But with Sarah on the ticket I am fully on board now!

Palin recited her speech perfectly. It may have excited the GOP 'base' but the sarcastic insults also pissed off the opposition. It will be interesting to see how the undecided voter feel about the last nites bombast from Palin.
