Is there a better AL second baseman than Pedroia?

Coming off a rookie of the year season, the "sophomore jinx" has been put to rest by the little guy. He is nothing short of terrific. Most folks dn't realize that he is 5'7" and weighs in around 155. Who is better?

Lets get this strait, he is the best 2nd basemen in the league, he is also the best hitter right now. Highest avg...going have more than 200 hits, has the 2nd most double, most runs...whomever was talking about Polanco, he has 8 errors this year, Gold Glove is between Iwamura and Pedroia. Cano sucks, he ll be lucky to be on the yankees next year.

I am so impressed by Dustin Pedroia's abilities. The guy is a walkng example of going against obstacles. I mean what the heck he is 5'7" hitting clean up for the defending World Champions and having the best batting average in the AL! Dont give up because you are small!

Seriously I think that if Ian Kinsler could step his defensive capabilities up a little more he would be the best hitting Second Baseman in the AL. But Pedroia has taken that spot by a wide margin.

And to the guy that said that Cano is better. What the hell are you smoking?!?!?!

  • When it comes to hitting, Dustin is definitely the best 2nd Baseman.

As for Defense, I say Placido Polanco from Detroit. The guys has made 3 errors over the last 7 years!!! He's a Gold Glove winner and makes a lot of really amazing plays, plus is a great hitter too...

Pedey is ridiculous right now. Even with his slow start he has an ops+ of 127. Kinsler is at 134 and definitely having an outstanding season, but I have to love what Pedey is doing for the team, bouncing between batting 2nd and cleanup, making killer defensive plays look routine and being that dreaded word, "Clutch!"

Roberts is a great player too, but between him, Kinsler and Pedey, I think Dustin is the best player right now.

i think of it particularly is going to be between Pedroia, Cano, Kinsler and probable Hill. Pedey is probable the desirable defensively and Hill or Kinsler for offensively. Cano is youthful and surely an excellent participant who falls under the shadow of the three desirable infielders around him, yet i think of Pedroia could have yet another super season and be the desirable 2nd basemen interior the A.L.

No one right now, maybe if Ian Kinsler hadn't gotten hurt he would be right there with Pedroia but as far as the AL goes there's no one at 2nd base that even touches his numbers, defense, or importance to his team.

He isn't as good as Pedroia, but I like Brian Roberts from the Orioles who is also 5'7" & a good second baseman

Ian Kinsler has a slight edge. Both are great hitters, but Kinsler has more power. Pedroia is better defensively.

As for best AL secondbaseman, I mite even put Ian Kinsler ahead of Pedrioa. But those two are pretty neck in neck.

No one. He's actually been hot since June, but now he's getting even more hotter. He's been very consistent for the Sox and I bet he's one of the best in the Major Leagues right now.

    Dustin Pedroia for MVP!
