health/injury on shoulder?
If you have a torn muscle at the rotator cuff, how long does shoulder surgery generally, take to heal? And how long does post surgery last, would it be necessary to take pain killers meantime?

you can take pain killers in the mean time just not an extended amount because even though you will say you wont get addicted you might. I would make a Pre-op appt with a surgeon and ask him the questions because it depends on the Muscle and How he will do the procedure. He will probably give you pain killers in the mean time from your pre-op appt to your actual surgery or maybe even your Primary Care Dr. Might.
