    Friend,

My question to you is that how did you loose your confidence or why you feel that you lost your confidence? In my opinion the possible cause is your Retirement. All retired persons male or female get some imbalances when they retire. This is only a temporary phase and by passing of time you may overcome this if you are prepared to make changes in your thinking and activities. Devote your time as far as possible for reading some worthy Books, interesting activities such as visiting and interacting with reputed Social Institution, creative activities and gardening etc.

Self confidence is a matter for self and I don't think help from the children or friends of your age can help you whereas it can lead you to more troubles. Accept your retirement as routine and this cannot be avoided or you can get exemption. When you understand and accept so, I am sure your self confidence will be improved and also try to practice what little I could contribute in this regard.

    Best wishes.

first, it is great that you can interact with people of every age. meet friends and others who have retired too. if you have any skills, share them with others. there are many organisations which look for volunteers to help in their adult education programs, have you tried to also offer help to old-age homes where you can write letters or pay bills for the elderly. there are so many organisations where you can lecture and become like a mentor for the young professionals. it does not matter that you are retired, you have already acquired all the skills and knowledge which will benefit young people. spend time with people your age and children, life will become so interesting if you interact with different age groups and younger people have such a fresh view of life and topics.
