From a Christian perspective, should adulterers be allowed to get legally married?

Adultery is still a sin, isn't it?

Well christians aren't interested in following the laws of their god, only the ones they like.

The Bible is clear on this. Adulterers are to be stoned to death. Luckily we live in a secular society.

Adultery itself is a sin according to the Word of God. Anyone who confesses their sins, including adultery, will be forgiven by God. But once they have received the forgiveness of God, they have just as much right to be legally married as anyone else. They cannot commit adultery unless they have been married previously, if we consider the real meaning of the word adultery. For it is to have sexual relations with someone other than their legal spouce. Fornication is the same, except the two parties are not married. And adultery is the only reason that the Word of God gives us as an excuse for divorce. In my own personal opinion, there are probably not too many people who would want to marry a person whom they know had previously committed adultery with a previous person to whom they had been married. Even though it may be legal according to man's laws, it is not necessarily anything that God looks to highly upon.

Yes, adultery is a sin. Do you mean if two people cheat on their spouses should they be allowed to get married? They can get married, but it will probably not last. If the first one ended, why not the second, then the third, the fourth. Cheating just makes marriage a joke. Why get married in the first place?

Most of the Christians I know follow the laws of the land.

Source(s): Regarding adultery, it is still a sin and it must be repented of. The New Testament says that God will judge fornicators and adulterers. The Old Testament indicates that God found this so abhorrent among His people that offenders were to be stoned. God hates adultery.

    personally...i would say no.

its breaking a Covenant between you and God!

its one thing to sin but to break a Covenant is something entirely different!

i hold that judgment against myself also...i also can not remarry.

The law allows for a lot of things that my beliefs do not. Alcohol, tobacco, abortion, etc.

if that was a law, almost every Christian i know would not have been able to get married.
