A nurse gave me a testicular exam yesterday... and checked me for STD's. Here is exactly what happened...

I sat on the edge of a bench with my pants down to my ankles. I had to squeeze my urethra from the base of my penis to the top of it, twice... then she inserted a small swab into my urethra (used to check for gonorrhoea and chlamydia).

She swabbed my throat too.

Then she stood next to me, and while looking away from my groin.... felt my testicles for lumps, felt my seminal vesicles for lumps... and felt my vas deferens for lumps. She was very gentle. Nothing to worry about. The whole thing was quite clinical so I was relaxed... we talked about my vasectomy durng the procedure as she felt the knot and wondered what it was.... I didnt have any inclination for an erection.... it just wasn't a sexual experience at all.. I was so flaccid that I was probably a little too relaxed...lol.

Then she also swabbed my anus for stds.

She took some blood from my arm.

What is the procedure for a doctor giving a testicular exam? I was told it was basic that a doctor stand and reach down to examine. I was once examined by a female doctor and she got on her knees, holding, and staring straight at the goods. She seemed to have taken a while too. Is this normal?

While I'm sure they enjoy their work overall, I am also convinced that they consider the testicular exam of any guy just another necessary evil. Something that they must do, but not anything they are gratified by.
