39 weeks, my ribs are KILLING me!?
for the past few days, my ribs have been pretty sore. i figured it was just from the baby kicking me. the pain went away yesterday, and i felt completley fine. today, i was pulling some jeans out of the washer, and i felt like a rip, or pop in my ribs. since then, my ribs have been hurting nonstop. i've tried tylenol and a heating pad, but it's not working. there is no relief from this pain, no matter what i do. the pain is in my ribs on the left side. i'm calling my doctor in the morning to see what i can do. i'm just worried about being so close to having my baby and having this rib pain at the same time. i mean, what if i go into labor before my ribs get better? i can barley go number two without crying from the pain in my ribs, how am i suppose to PUSH this baby out while my ribs are almost splitting me in two? the pain had let up as of yesterday, but after i felt that pop in my ribs today, the pain has been nonstop. could it be that mabye i have a cracked or bruised rib? or could it be just because of the baby kicking me? what will the doctors do for constant rib pain like this when i'm soo close to going into labor?

It could have been your baby kicking, but it sounds more likely that a rib/vertabrae popped out of alignment. It's common during the last stage of pregnancy, when relaxin is loosening all our ligaments. Not that this is any consolation!
It sounds really painful and I really feel for you. See what your doctor suggests in the morning, and in the meantime try to not sit too long, maybe lie down on the floor or your bed and let your spine naturally align. You poor thing... you're so close! Hang in there!!!

I think u either cracked a rib, or u got a rib over the other rib and that can be painful the popping soung was the rib going over the other one that is next to it. or it the rib coming of the other rib and that also can be painful. The pain before was due to the baby and bay can also cause u to have a rib over the other.
I will get some advice from the doc, i cant give u any as i am not a doc and i dont no ur medical history and what is allowed for u or not.

It sounds like you have a broken rib. It could also be pluerisy, which is an inflamation of the lungs, sometimes from not breathing in as deeply as you should. It's VERY unlikely that the baby did anything to you.
Make sure you breathe deeply often, even if it hurts. Try holding a pillow in front of your chest when you're doing anything that hurts them. If you have a blood pressure monitor, check your BP, which could get dangerously high from the pain. Be prepared for the doctor to induce labor, or schedule a c-section. At this stage, you and the baby will be fine. If your pain doesn't get any better quickly, or if the baby isn't moving as much as normal, go to the ER immediately, to make sure your uterus hasn't torn, or that the baby's position isn't bad. Good luck, and remember, labor is hard, and they have medications that can help you. Sometimes you will.

There is not much they can do except tell you to stretch your torso out so the baby isn't in them as much and take Tylenol for pain. I had horrible rib pain right before I delivered, but I had an epidural so I had no pain during delivery. But when I got to the hospital, I was so excited and nervous that I didn't even notice the pain.
