Dandruff and hair loss connection?

I'm 32, there is no history of male pattern baldness in my family, my brother who is 2 years older than me and my father, who is 60, both have a full head of hair. I noticed that most of last year i had horrible dandruff, i could not put my fingers trough my hair without dandruff specs coming off. i tried some shampoos but nothing seemed to help the dandruff, suddenly the dandruff went away but then my hair started falling out, specially above my forehead and on the back of my head, could there be a connection between the dandruff and the hair loss? anyone had this happen to them? any treatments? will rogaine help?

I have not ever heard of a connection between dandruff and hair loss, but it seems like it could be possible. These links may have some information about it.

I know of no connection between the two. I do know, if you start taking a good, quality brand of B-Complex tablets - as soon as they hit the blood stream, it goes straight to the scalp & hair & promotes new hair growth. It is no overnite quick fix. It is gradual & could take as long as 6 months before you tell a noticeable diffrence. Follow instructions. Do NOT exceed recommended dosage. Stop wearing a cap or hat - they cause hair loss. Good luck.

I would suggest head and shoulders. The dandruff caused damage to your hair follicles. And use Rogaine as well.

I am going to head with the noticeable and say take a look at a dandruff shampoo. Head and Shoulders rather does paintings relatively good. Also, a shampoo with inexperienced tea is helping... Organix makes a nice one, referred to as "tea tree mint" you'll get it from goal or wal-mart. Best of good fortune to you and your scalp!
