baby , infant, 0-2 years
"toddler" 2-4
"child" is a term that can mean anywhere from 0 -18
but generally "youth" is used to cover the teen years.
you dont hear "youngster" much any more but its like child and can be used to describe any minor.
young man/woman 18-35 "spring chicken"
20 - 40
you are in your prime
middle aged is about half life expectancy about 35-45
senior 60 and over
golden years
elderly is near or beyond life expectancy70+
twilight years

usually when they demand it. infant is no longer infantile when they are walking. kids do things like play ball and run and jump and talk. anyways, to cut that short, its all based on the sociology of your country, and in turn your own communities outlook. I guess a 12 yr old is a man in germany, sense he can drink, yet in america he would still be just a kid.
