I wanted to know an estimate of the pitch on this roof. and how many squares it would be... it is an L shaped. with the left side the garage. I cant get out to the house to measure it for a few weeks, but I wanted to know what to price the roof when I call roofers.

the links below will direct you on the how to's of calculating pitch and square footage. just call around they give free estimates . . . get three estimates and pick the middle one. the low baller is not always the best guy for the job. and dont lead on that you have other estimaters coming, or what they have said or quoted. let the guy formulate his own opinion. if you dont like the estimator, add another to your list, dont take up the issue with him.

Hey Stu, looks to be close to a 6/12. Could be a little less, definitely not steeper. As far as number of squares- I'm not sure. Maybe with a photo of each side of the home, I could come close. But not with just the one angle to work with. Good luck with your project.
