what movie is this? saw it as a kid?

im not saying i was a kid when it came out, im to young lol. but me and my parents were thinking about it. i only remember bits and peices of it though, details:

-horror/comedy(maaybe)

-i think chevy chase was in it

plot(from what i remember):

these people are driving and get stopped or something by a sherrif and end up at this wack judges house. i remember he could remove his nose (that detail i am sure about) and they're like forced to stay for dinner or the night or something like that. i remember he was crazy and like his house blew up at the end or something like that, the couple excaped but they see him (the judge) on t.v and it turns out the judge had the guys i.d and said he was comming to stay with them and i think it ends with the guy screasming and the judge laughing.

its been bothering me for a whiile, its an older movie and i remember for sure it was a comedy. but i also remember he had this rollar coaster thing in his house (liek those haunted mansion rides) and i think peole died tho iidk
