Tiramisu is an Italian dessert using coffee, sponge type cake and ricotta cheese.
I think the name literally means "pick-me-up".
As far as I know there is no ingredient called tiramisu.

Tiramisu is an Italian dessert made with ladyfinger cookies that are brushed with espresso and layered with a marscapone cheese filling and dusted with cocoa powder. I would think most Italian restaurants would have it on their dessert menu.

Tiramisu is not an ingredient; it is an Italian dessert made of savoiardi (lady fingers) dipped in coffee and mascarpone cream then made into a little cake.

tiramisu brownies have coffee and mascarpone cheese like the original dessert, but they don't have ladyfingers.
