Oh and ah empty belly. We West Indian ppl feel really happy when our guest enjoy the food. That is the greatest gift.

I think you ought to know a little about her tastes first:

If she drinks alcohol then a bottle of Baileys, Red or White wine, Chardonnay, etc could be a nice gift

If she doesn't drinks alcohol well forget it!

If she collects stuff for her house a nice plant, picture, etc is nice

If she has her own tastes and her house is a particular colour scheme - expect the gift to go into a drawer or her friend who likes it

A nice piece on Jewelry may fascinate her, but the husband may give you looks to kill

Lingerie is totally out of the question

A book is a fabulous gift - but you need to know if she prefers a book on religion, gardening, food (this may be the best bet), arts, novels, etc

Or to be sure ask her husband about an appropriate gift

Yes. flowers are great. Or a small potted flower. I like to give a small picture frame and if you take some nice pics have them printed for them of the gathering. NIce of you to ask!

Johnny Green is nice or hennesy, or something like that. we usually dont go for anything fancy. so stick to the basics...expensive basics..like johnny blue would make you a family friend for life. looooooooool

West Indian like alcohol. You can't go wrong with that. Carry a bottle of something....usually rum or scotch. Can never go wrong with JOHNNY WALKER.

Trinis like to drink yuh hear! Some type of top shelf liquor is fine. Yes we like to drink and drink expensive too!! LOL!!

You could always bring a bottle of wine. It's always a nice thing to do.
