Wedding colours/themes?

Okay so, I'm not getting married anytime soon, but I love weddings!

So I'm just wondering, what's your dream wedding colours or theme?

Or if you're already married, what were your colours/ did you have a theme?

You can list more then one if you want =)

If I marry my current boyfriend, we thought we would use our birthstones as a colour theme.

It would either be White and Sage, or White, Black and Lime Green.

=)

My wedding was in August 2007.

Our colors were Gold and Teal with Jewel tone accents (fuchsia for my mom, colbalt for my grandma & navy for my now mother in law)

My dress was gold, the brides maids wore teal with gold shoes.

We had teal & gold accents throughout the room, we gave teal fans for our outside ceremony and our cake was teal & gold.

I really like the idea of your birthstones - very unique and very creative. It's a great way to represent both of you.

Best wishes to you and congratulations to your families!

My husband and I were married away from home in Jamaica. I had a standard reception a few weeks later back at home. I had a beach/tropical theme. My wedding cake was a standard tier cake, but the frosting was light blue with white chocolate seashells (I loved! my cake). I utilized my theme further by playing reggae music during dinner, had seashell shaped chocolates and miniature sandcastles as favors for the guests and red tropical flowers for the table centerpieces, and scattered real seashells on the tables around the centerpiece.

I love! the idea of using your birthstone colors as your color theme! It'll be lovely in all of things that are a part of your wedding: invitations, flowers, cake, balloons, dresses and tuxedo's. Even simple favors could be white, green and black jelly beans tied up in white tulle with coodinating ribbon! Oh it sounds lovely!

  • My wedding colors were: lilac & silver with splashes of hot pink. I know the hot pink sounds out there my decorator/florist actually suggested it. I had hot pink roses for the boutonnieres, and then hot pink roses & stargazer Lillie's along with other flowers in the bouquets.

At the reception the hot pink was a ribbon at the top of the hurricane lamps on the tables that were covered with a lilac tablecloth & a silver runner down the middle. The appetizer table had a hot pink tablecloth on it. We didn't go crazy with the hot pink like i said it was a "splash" of color.

My husband and I are farmers and I actually offered to do pale pale yellow or like sage green as the colors. I would NOT do John Deere green or yellow but I offered. I really wanted to do pale yellow because I thought it would be pretty to have the bridesmaids carry white daisies & I would carry yellow daisies but my husband wanted the lilac & silver.

My wedding colours are black, white and champagne. I was originally going to wear a black gown and a black veil (yeah I know, don't say anything, I like to be different) but then I fell in love with this champagne gown so now my bridesmaids are the ones wearing black lol. I think white and sage would be stunning. Green is my fave colour.

My colors were red, silver, and white. We used roses (silk) for all our decorations. Plus if you have enough time before your wedding, you can pick up beautiful valentine decorations after valentines day at 75% off. I collected things like that after the holiday and had a beautiful and very elegant decorations on a budget. We got married in October so red went with fall fairly well. A lot depend too on what time of year your getting married. Good Luck!

  • My wedding colors were red, white and black. I was married a week before Valentines Day. My bridesmaids wore a red dress with long white gloves ala Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. The groomsmen had spiffy black tuxes, with vests to match the bridesmaids dresses.

My Bridesmaids wore Emerald Green Satin, drop waist, off the shoulder, dresses, with a simple diamond clip in the middle. They carried heart shaped, bouqets of peach and green flowers. The groomsmen all wore black tuxes with a green satin cumberbund. We had an elegant evening wedding for 200 people, it was a sit down dinner, with appetizers and Venetian Table. The centerpieces were fresh flower topiary trees, we had an amazing band who got everybody dancing, our cake was chocolate mousse, and on seperate tiers, decorated with peach flowers and green ivy. All in all, it turned out to be a very elegant evening wedding. :)

I went to one wedding where they did a Halloween Theme. They carried the bridie in inside of a coffin. Everyone thought it was going to be really weird and creepy, but it was the most fun I have ever ever had at a wedding. The decorations were fun, the kids had a blast, and everyone wore a costume.

When I get married, I dont want a boring white wedding. I want Red and Black. No long dresses. Just above the knee. We're going to play CURRENT music. Its going to be upbeat
