Would you comment a late nighter?

The Little Things

By Jonni F.

Fresh bread baking,

babies waking.

Little Things,

here for the taking.

Cats a purring,

breezes stirring,

Little Things that

keep occurring.

A warm embrace,

a smiling face,

these Little Things

are filled with grace.

New leaves on a tree,

dipping toes in the sea,

these Little Things,

are big, for me.

You do little things well! Nice.

Your use of the Rubaiyat format aaba, plus echoing the third line of each stanza, was very effective. The poems that come off looking "simple", yet addictive, are the ones with the most sophistication. Many will say, "I could have written that"...but few would really be able to do so.

    Congrats...nicely done, keep writing

"a few of my favorite things" from the sound of music haha

i love the question as well!

PP: did you recognize why I pulled you over, Ms. Jonni? J: No, Sir, Officer. PP: I pulled you over because your cat isn't securely confined. did you recognize the way many cats get out and carouse this way? J: Huh? PP: Please, be extra careful next time.

    I LOVE IT!!!

It's so true. We live life for those little things, like my puppy's sloppy kisses (and those irresistible puppy eyes that i ALWAYS fall for)

Joy is to be found in simplicity. Nice rhyming!
