Who is the one member of the Baseball Hall of Fame That Should Not be There?
There are many that one might find marginal or questionable. Who is yours? I'll reveal mine after a few answers.
Along with Scooter, I believe that Whitey Ford is just short of actually being a HOF. He was used more in the style of today's pitchers, give you 5-6 innings and then use the bullpen. However, it was in the era when starters were expected to pitch more into the game, mostly completing them.
He had so many WS wins simply because the teams he happened to be a member of were so good. This also explains why he was able to win as manyt games as he did. Put him in Philly or Pittsburgh of that era and he would never have made it to the HOF.

Walter "Rabbit" Maranville at 5' 5 1/2" and 155 pounds had a life-time batting average of just .258 and an OBP of just .318. He never hit over .300 in his career and made the Baseball Hall of Fame on his reputation as a clown of baseball and a decent fielder. Played 22 years, but shouldn't be in the HOF just because he had a long career.

Scooter--virtually nobody ever talked about him as a HOF guy while he played. He even said he wasn't a guy for the Hall.
But he had the same initials as Pee Wee Reese and they were both short-stops in New York at the same time, and he announced forever, and writers and The Boss and others just kept on beating the drum for him...
There are worse choices (Ferrell, probably Shalk), but he is one of the worst recent ones.

It's pretty hard to say unless you actually saw a player play. Nowadays, people, including the writers, see the Hall as a repository for guys who chalked up big numbers. It's more than that. It's about fame, however it is earned. So, for me they all deserve to be there. I can't judge players from the past who might have served a better purpose than their numbers show, and in my time of watching baseball, I can only tell you who isn't there who should be.

Sorry, I've stopped watching that stuff a long time ago. None of the players either in football, baseball or basketball play for the love of the sport! Million dollar contracts, drugs, murder and a assorted of other crimes are the pursuit of the game now!
