Need good ideas for snacks for Kindergarten class.?
My daughter just started Kindergarten this year. Her school does an afternoon snack time for the Kindergarten kids. The teachers decide how to do snack time. Her teacher has decided to have the parents bring in enough for the whole class (25 kids). They do not have a refrigerator, so the items must be shelf-stable for up to 2 weeks. Also, they have put a limit of less than 10 grams of fat and less than 10 grams of sugar per serving. I'm glad they are trying to do healthy snacks, but I can't think of anything that I can provide. Even no-sugar-added apple sauce contains more sugar than they allow. Everything else I can think of requires refrigeration.
None of the students in her class have any food allergies, so that isn't a concern. Please help me come up with some fun, healthy foods to take. Thanks in advance for your help!

granola bars (they even have fun ones that are 100 calories), cheeze-it's, goldfish, pretzels, popcorn, raisins---there are alot of 100 calorie snack packs now--even pudding (you don't have to refrigerate)--my son is in Kindergarten also and they have a 'healthy' school so we have to do the same healthy snacks...can get difficult at times but, at least it's good for them :)~~

I just got a paper from my sons school of approved healthy snacks. My son has an allergy in his school so they are a peanut free school.
Here's a few things off the top of my head from the list that I can't find lol:
Gold fish
trail mix
Pretzels
Crackers
Celery filled with cream cheese
Fruit
Fruit snacks
Juice boxes 100% juice
Boxes of raisins
School supply's like pencils, erasers.
That's all I can think of off the top of my head...Good luck and ask your child's teacher I'm sure they plan on having a list for a Halloween party.

Dry cereal-my kids like Berry Berry Kix, Multi-grain Cheerios, and Cracklin Oat Bran.
Rice Cakes- We like Chocolate Crunch (4g sugar and 1g fat) and carmel corn flavor from Quaker the best.
Crasins-dried cranberries
crackers and a tub of pb
sugar free pudding-just buy the snack packs that are NOT in the refrigerated section.

Now I have no idea about the sugar or fat quantities in these suggestions, but here's a few you may want to look into:
Raisins-I know they're fat free
Fruit-some have a lot of sugar, but most children love bananas, apples, oranges, or pineapple
Cereals
Fruit Roll ups
Granola bars
Cucumbers sliced with Lemon salt or ranch dressing (my sons favorite)-would have to be refrigerated
Cheese-fridge required

Dried fruit like raisins are easy to store and they are high in iron, fiber. Granola is usually in the ballpark. Rice cakes come in different flavors and you if add a little peanut butter at serving time it's healthier. Check out the snack aisle in your local health food store (or the heath food aisle in your regular store) you might get a few more ideas.

Cheese or fish crackers
Pretzels
Raisins
Bite sized fruit
Low sugar granola/snack bar
Lower sugar dried fruit
I'd watch the popcorn. It can be a choking hazard.

Granola bars, fresh fruit salad, pretzels, applesauce cups, string cheese, cheese and crackers, 100% fruit fruit rolls or fruit snacks. Hope this helps! Some bagel places have mini bagels and those are good too!
