This is for all you people who elected Bush to a SECOND term.?
If we had a strong economy now, would you be saying that Bush and the republicans were responsible for it?
If the answer is yes, then why do so few of you blame them for the economic ship wreck that he and the republican deregulators (such as John McCain) have left behind?

When Clinton was the president the economy really was sound ($230 billion surplus) and unemployment was low. Then came President Bush and now we are in an economic crisis ($9.7 trillion deficit), we are stuck in an endless war, unemployment is higher than ever, and most Americans can’t afford a tank of gas.
Why we would even consider electing someone who agrees with most of his policies is beyond me. Now we should take $700 billion to bail out Wall Street because the regulations were lifted? The American dollar is already not worth the paper it is printed on, we need to try something new and pray it’s for the greater good.

Matt A- democrats didnt gain majority in congress until almost 2007. do your research.
And to answer your question- you will not convert a bush supporter. They have been warped by fear and fuzzy logic. That is why all of a sudden they favor regulation after decades of fighting it.
Kevin B- Clinton doesn't deserve credit, huh? Well, only for the record low employment rates, the surplus when he left office and longest period of economic growth in American history. But yeah, other than that.....no credit.

The president has little control over the economy. Most of the power is in the hands of Congress. As for deregulation of Fanny Mae, that happened in 1968. It was converted from a government agency to a private corporation.

I voted for him the two cases. I re-elected him by using fact he had completed this type of reliable interest the 2d time. Others voted for him final time around by using fact the only different selection become Kerry.

No I do not credit strong economies to Presidents. The credit lies with we the people. That's the idea of a free market economy. We are not like Dem's who are misinformed enough to credit Clinton with the tech boom of the 90's.

In 2005 John McCain tried to fix Fannie and Freddie but the movement was blocked by democrats in Congress.

If we had a strong economy now, it would be a result of our do-nothing, useless Congress passing legislation that Bush favored to reform Fannie and refinance subprime loans.
