Do you Support our troops?

I do not support the Iraq war

I do not support any unjust war

Or starting a war that has nothing to do with me or my Country

BUT

I DO

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS for what they do

That is protecting all of us

They are the BEST of the BEST

To denounce the war is good

To denounce or troops is BEYOND ME

This next part I am putting in FAILS ME

I can only pass this on. to you

Words fail me.

Recently, Royal Marines in Iraq, wrote to Starbucks because they wanted to let them know how much they liked their coffees, and to request that they send some of it to the troops there. Starbucks replied, telling the Marines thank you for their support of their business, but that Starbucks does not support the war, nor anyone in it, and that they would not send the troops their brand of coffee.

So as not to offend Starbucks, maybe we should support them by NOT buying any of their products! I feel we should get this out in the open. I know this war might not be very popular with some folks, but that doesn't mean we don't support the boys on the ground, fighting street-to-street and, house-to-house.

If you feel the same as I do then pass this along. Thanks very much for your support. I know you'll all be there again when I deploy once more.

Sgt. Howard C. Wright 1st Force Recon Co 1st PLT.

PLEASE DON'T DELETE THIS. .. PLEASE PASS TO EVERYONE ON YOUR E- MAIL LIST, IN MEMORY OF ALL THE TROOPS

WHO HAVE DIED, SO THAT WE MAY HAVE THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE !

Also, don't forget that when the Twin Trade Towers were hit, the fire fighters and rescue workers went to Starbucks because it was close by for water for the survivors and workers, and Starbucks CHARGED THEM! ! !

AN ADDED NOTE TO THIS: STARBUCKS HAD STORES ON SEVERAL MILITARY BASES IN THE UNITED STATES. THEY ARE NOW BEING REMOVED BECAUSE OF THIS.

There are 227 Starbucks stores across the UK, and there's no doubt that our soldiers would get the same response from this company, so let us do our bit and boycott Starbucks to show them how despicable their actions are.

I never liked their coffee either

Update:

SUPPORT OUR/YOUR TROOPS

whether you agree with the war or not

THEY DESERVE our SUPPORT

AND HAVE EARNED OUR RESPECT

give the the support and respect they deserve

NOT KICK THEM IN THE TEETH

Update 2:

Bet some one reports this

if they do

they are either from Starbuck's

Or as I believe

Low down (rh;;l gfh gfgj) PS: put your own words in for what they are

Update 3:

great a good ste of replies giving and getting answers with different opinions

No yelling moaning grousing cat wailing etc every one saying there piece without a bad mouthing each other

in other words talking

why can we not resolve these problems the same way

TALK

Update 4:

great a good ste of replies giving and getting answers with different opinions

No yelling moaning grousing cat wailing etc every one saying there piece without a bad mouthing each other

in other words talking

why can we not resolve these problems the same way

You better believe I support our troops 101%! I don't see how anyone can say otherwise. People don't have to agree with any war or any decision our government makes but to not support our military is to be anti-American. To the posts by Beyond Brainwashing and RG: SHAME ON YOU FOR SPEWING SUCH GARBAGE!! and to Maple Leaf and frankly: HOW DARE YOU COMPARE OUR TROOPS TO TERRORISTS! The brave men and women of our armed forces are the very reason that spoiled ungrateful brats like you have the right to live in a free country where you have the right to run your mouths like mindless idiots and you have the nerve to disrespect the ones that put their lives on the line and even died so you could have that right? There is a saying, people that demand freedom the most usually deserve it the least and I see some fine examples of that on here. Why don't you join the service and do the thankless work our soldiers do and then tell me they don't protect our country or keep it safe and don't deserve our support! Anybody who takes full advantage of the rights and freedoms enjoyed by people in this country everyday and then has the nerve to not support and appreciate the people that give him that right is a hypocrite and doesn't deserve to live in a country like the U.S. Freedom is never free.

Though I support the war, I agree that one can and should support the troops without supporting the war. I am not sure if this Starbucks story you cite is really true or just another email rumor, looks sort of like the latter. If you can provide a news source, like cnn/fox or a newspaper that backs it up then that'd be great for the purposes of this question.

If the story is true, then I agree that Starbucks is a douche for doing that and I'd probably not be buying their coffee for some time (only I thing like is their frapuccinos). This is similar, though perhaps not as severe, as what some of the liberal whack jobs, like Ann Garrison, were doing in San Francisco when they were trying to get a petition for their authorities to declare the Blue Angels and Fleet Week unwelcome in the city. The reason, they said, was because the Blue Angels are an insidious recruiting tool for the military (which everyong knows anyway, big surprise), and that the military was being used by the U.S. government to support illegal wars meant to steal resources from third-world countries. My opinion of that is similar to this alleged Starbucks story - the Blue Angels are the face of the military personnel and Fleet Week an expression of sailors' service to their country. Rejecting that is pretty much a slap in the face of the troops.

I personally support seeing the Iraq War through until the country is stabilized and am happy to see that because of the work of our troops and the different strategy taken since the surge, that this is now possible. I can agree to disagree with and respect those that want to withdraw but still support our troops as long as they are kept there. I cannot respect at all those people who hate on the troops because of failures of the politicians.

You said, "I could see not supporting the war, that's understandable, but why would you not support the people fighting and losing their lives over there?" I think the problem is that the folks that don't support the troops can't see the bigger picture and are unable to separate the men and women fighting the war from the policies that brought the war. I think, if you could get the people with the signs saying "Don't support the troops" to think about the people and not the policy, you'd find that more people support the troops than don't.

  • The whole Starbucks thing is a hoax. It's an urban legend.

Marines never wrote to Starbucks asking for free coffee, and Starbucks never wrote to anyone or released any statement saying they "don't support the war". In fact, some Starbucks branches have been quite active in sending pounds of coffee to deployed soldiers.

It seems any prankster can come up with a bogus story, plant it in the internet and watch companies and individuals they do not like receive masses of unfair and insubstantial bad publicity. I urge you to be more diligent the next time you open your inbox, you gullible twit.

If that story were to be true, then why do we get Starbucks coffee at AAFES and DeCA facilities?

The Starbucks hating our military and their families is a hoax. Absolutely not true.

And as for their coffee shops being removed from military bases, that too is false.

Never believe everything you read in newspapers/magazines, listen to over the radio, or watch on TV news.

  • Being a soldier for the last 25 years I can say this.

We are your sons and daughters

We are your husbands and wives

    We are your family

We fight for those that can not fight for themselves

    We are Soldiers

I love the ARMY, you really have too as a Leader, and the one thing I hate most...is that I may have to send into battle the one thing I love the most..the Soldier...and some will die and never return.

War is only one thing...BAD....A means to an end by someones political agenda...We do what is required of us..execute the mission..without passion or prejudice...

Having the support of the people is absolutely essential....even the smallest thing can have an impact....a note from home...an email...a package...I once received a package from a 3rd grade class, that sent me, several artworks from the children...when I read the not that accompanied it..it was from my old 1st Grade teacher!!!!!, I was in tears...that by itself...kept me going...knowing I was there for them, and their simple thank you's was all I needed....

As far as Starbucks...they have that right to make that decision....because We are here!!! besides I like "Dunkin' Donuts" better anyway!!!!!

Definitely support our troops. They don't choose where they go on our behalf and they and their families who are making as big a sacrifice deserve everyone's respect for making sure the rest of us can sleep safe in our beds.

Is there a website anywhere on which companys such as Starbucks can be listed so that those of us who want to boycott businesses with such an anti troop bias can be highlighted.

I didn't really catch the name but someone said we're the terrorists? Being in a country that doesn't want us is one thing, civilians getting caught in some cross-fire sure, but i don't recall any full blown attempt at American Terrorism in the Middle East conducted by Marines or Soldiers.

War generally sucks, if anyone had seen what went on during WWII in terms of civilians dying and such i bet they'd of had opposition to. It seems to me that people are just now figuring out how bad war can really get.

Heard about Starbucks here in the UK too. I obviously I support our British Fighting Forces, I do not think they want to be in a campaign of no consequence, but you see, we had a Prime Minister who was in essenceo a puppet for your President and that was that.

Why Starbucks decided to do this (if true) then people should not actually support their efforts to serve us coffee in an over priced basic coffee shop.

I do not use their facilities since reading this information - which I heard month's ago, so I am doing my bit.

Wait there's such a thing as a just war? Lets no be naive here okay, there is no such thing as a good guy and bad guy in war if you heard the oppositions side of the story you would probably think they were good guys too.

There are just people that don't agree so they fight thats it.

Well I dunno how much more I can support the troops I mean I'm pretty much one of those troops myself haha
