Isn't law the knowledge of good and evil?

I was wondering just what “the knowledge of good and evil” meant in real terms and how this “knowledge” could cause those who acquired it to become “as gods,” (see Gen 3:5 and Gen 3:22).

It is the laws that men write that define good and evil, which vary from culture to culture, from time to time, and class to class, that is the power mankind is forced to obey in place of the laws of nature. This would certainly make Mat 15:9, Romans 3:20, 28, 4:14-15, 6:14, 7:6-8, 10:4, 1 Cor15:56, Gal 2:16, 22, Gal 3:13 and many other verses make sense. In addition, 1 Cor 15:24-25 seem to confirm this conclusion since it is rule, power and authority that write the rules, laws, canons, etc, that create not only sin, but the divisions of men that lead to hatred, discrimination and war.

There are two trees in the garden. These two trees have more than a literal meaning. We are told that The tree of knowledge of good and evil is forbidden.

The day Adam eats of it he will surely die.

The tree of life is also in the midst of the garden if they eat of it they will live forever.

These two trees are obviously more than trees.

What is the knowledge of good and evil?

Where could a man gain knowledge of good and evil?

We get our knowledge of good and evil from God.

The law that God sent down to Moses is the knowledge of good and evil.

Why would God's righteous law kill man?

Because man could not live up to God's righteousness.

It is also the reason there was a tree in the midst of the garden called the tree of life.

This is God's mercy. Salvation through Jesus Christ.

This story Moses tells is of the two natures of God his righteousness and his mercy.

It is the story of man and his fall from God's glory and God's plan of salvation.

Man inherited death through lack of righteousness.

Through the law man became as god knowing good from evil,

Through his unrighteosuness he inherited death.

Ye are gods but you will die like men.

    Psalms 82:

1 God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.

2 How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.

3 Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.

4 Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.

5 They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.

6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

7 But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.

8 Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.

Adam purely understood what develop into solid beforehand he ate from the forbidden fruit. After he ate the forbidden fruit he develop into made conscious of what develop into evil, you're able to say that's even as he gained the moral guidelines of God inscribed upon his heart. So his theory of the international had replaced. you may also say that he gained "reason" because he develop into waiting to determine what develop into solid and evil. children are born with out "reason" as they advance older they develop into youthful ones in which they start up to understand the version between what's solid and evil. And through the a lengthy time period of seven-8 years old they completely understand the version between what's solid and evil. so that you're able to say they change into this information. This also means that children and youthful ones are incapable of committing own sin, because they both do no longer understand what's evil in any respect or they do no longer completely understand what's evil.

Laws should not be based on certain individuals ideas of "good and evil". National laws should be based on the needs of the people to live in and contribute to a productive, fair, peaceful, and prosperous society with regards to everyone's personal beliefs and lack thereof, so long as they do not interfere with other people's lives in a negative manner.

    Close; very close.

That tree of the knowledge of good and evil whose fruit resulted in death represents the old covenant. It gave a knowledge of good and evil; something desired to make one wise, and its fruit also results in death through condemnation of breaking that law.

The tree of Life represents Christ, and people are now able to choose that "tree" and live by faith in Christ.

Indeed, law = good + evil, ends badly, as bad as life + death.

God(Grace) is good only, ends good, as good as eternal life.

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.
