Why is Palin qualified to be vice president?
She was the mayor of a town with a population less than 7,000 people and has about 20 months experience as the mayor of a state with 650,000 people (one of the fewest in the nation). So what are her qualifications? Obama is state senator for a district with over 750,000 people in a state with 13 million. People keep touting her "payroll" experience as a credential, does that mean that anyone who runs a Wal-Mart should be in the running because they handle payroll?
She's running on being a "hockey mom" and her supporters are typically found commenting on her style and appearance rather than her political views. I want to know from someone WHY they support Palin beyond her appearance, beyond the fact that they for some reason find her attractive. In all of her interviews I haven't been able to figure out WHAT she stands for except that she carries the party's flag and is anti-abortion, pro-guns, and pro-war. Okay, so she's a typical republican, but what does she actually plan to do in the event she assumes responsibility as president? What does she know about the presidency?
This woman admitted shortly before her nomination that she is unaware of what the vice president's responsibility is. So why insist that she's qualified for the job? I surely wouldn't expect to be hired for a job when I tell the employer I have no idea what my job responsibilities are.
So why do you think she's qualified? All of you soccer and hockey moms who keep dropping answers here and there like "whatevers LOL McCain/Palin FTW!" tell me why. Do you know why? Are you voting that way because your husband tells you to? Are you voting that way because your parents did? Are you voting that way because your pastor/bishop/priest insists that you should? Or are you voting that way because you somehow managed to find a semblance of political competence in her?
Hiding behind something as pathetic as "you already have your mind made up" does absolutely nothing to sway my argument that you apparently haven't got a reason to vote for her other than how she dresses and what she looks like. Someone give me a solid reason to support her.
Ren J, I mentioned that she was governor of a state of 650,000 people, wouldn't you assume that means Alaska? I'm not aware of her governing any other states.

Palin is a ploy by the republicans to snag women voters who are naive enough to just vote for someone because they are a woman. Basically they want to get the women voters that were going for hilary. Hilary however was actually qualified. So this lady should be viewed as an insult to Americans if you ask me. But then again bush got in twice so...?

She was never "mayor of a state." Do I smell ignorance and bias from your rant? Can you say "governor" or are you on the same wavelength as the dummies who ignored her success as governor earlier in the campaign to smear her?
She has successfully managed to create fiscal accountability and tax reduction for her state - You must have missed that.
She got rouges out of office that were undermining the people of the state -- you missed that too.
She has more genuine experience in running government office and projects and has more initiative and more record of her initiative than "no show Obama."
OH, by the way, Joe Biden is a scary prospect for President if Obama was ever assassinated don't you think? The guy can't open his mouth without uttering gaffe after gaffe, and he never knows when to shut up! Seems strange that while everyone is attacking Sarah that Biden is conveniently left unnoticed. She is more qualified than either of them to be President or VP, and McCain is so far above Obama in wisdom and experience in government and what he has contributed over his years of experience that Obama isn't worthy to shine John's shoes!
Get a grip on reality before you spout your nonsense!

A Senator has absolutely no say in the budget or allocation of resources and has no leaderships over any state employees. That is why governors have much more prestige than Senators. Palin oversaw 43,000 employees and balanced a budget of 12 billion dollars (and managed to give each of her constituents 4,000 back per year). I'd say that is a major accomplishment that your man running for president can't touch.

You have to understand the people who picked her if you want to find a reason as to why they say she is qualified to be president. It was a purely political choice not just for women but because the republican base were not about to let John McCain, someone they are not fond of pick a liberal running mate, which he would have done, being the maverick he is. Instead he pussed out on the pressures of the party he is running for and basically threw everything he had worked for away for the republican base. If you think Evangelical Christians are not a political force to be reckoned with you are clueless as to why G. Bush is still president. McCain knew without them he could kiss his chances of winning goodbye. Palin gave them what they wanted, a female Bush. She's bulletproof on all cultural issues because the GOP can just spin any legitimate criticism into whatever they wanted to make it look like. The Republicans are using sexism by being sexist and expecting to pick up tons of women because women will vote for a women. Women are already more poverful when it comes to voting, and the GOP knew they could divide the women as a population and force them to duke it out instead of paying attention to the tortured old man they are gonna vote for just because he picked a woman.

In your 4 paragraphs of a rant you said she was Mayor of a state. Our states have Governors who:
1. Balance budgets
2. Nominate councils that oversee education, energy and natural disasters
3. Commander of the national Guard
4. She was the nominated and elected leader of the Governors so obviously (whatever state you live in) your Governor put his faith and his alliance in her.

She is not qualified to be Vice President and this is why. She is not qualified to be the President...Anyone taking that role must have the qualifications of President. She has neither.
Her rootin' tootin' moose shootin' abilities are far separate than that of a Head of State. I'm tired of hearing her screeching voice tell us how she is going to change anything. She lies more than any candidate for any office I have ever known.
The press can't question her, she impeeds investigations on her firing law enforcers, earmarks from Congress and her "bridge to nowhere" . By the way I'm sure you know about the "road to nowhere" that was actually built, but it only cost $23 million. It goes from the airport to, well, nowhere. It stops at the river and there are concrete blocks saying, "road closed".
Is this the type of person we need in the White House? I think not. Vote in my poll on the website below. Cast your vote and give me your opinions!

someone better take a second look at her so called 80 percent appoval rating. Alaskans found out a lot about her, when McCain opened the can of worms.
This is going to rank with the top all time hoaxes pulled on the American public. Or.. the rate things are going, maybe I should say, attempted hoaxes.

Well, she's not but I bet she can learn fast. She's a sharp lady. We may be stuck with her so let's be nice to her.

She is probably more qualified to be vice-president than BHO is "qualified" to be president.

People like her for (basically) the same reason they like Sen. Obama. She's "fresh." She is politically innocent, the same way Sen. Obama is. Yes, of course Sen. Obama has more experience than Gov. Palin, but the concept is the same. Neither of them has had the chance to do anything wrong.
Also, Palin was designed to draw out the conservative base whom agree with her ideals.
Many more liberal republicans are alienated by her as well due to her lack of experience.
She is somewhat of an anomaly, but many Americans feel that they can relate to her. This makes people like her feel like they would be putting themselves in office.
Personally, I feel this is misguided (not just because my ideals do not match hers) because "average Joe" probably isn't the most suitable for office, but it remains valid.
