Well given that China has the most people, and some of them are getting rid of girls to make sure the one child they are allowed to keep is a boy...

I am not being racist or ignorant in this. It is an appalling system that the government provides no retirement or pension, seniors are supported by their sons and daughter-in-laws... and the law says each family can only have one child.

Expect a war when this generation of only sons have to relieve their population pressures.

Given that women make up 52% of live births in Canada and given that women have slightly longer life expectancies than men in industrialized nations, I would say that in countries like Canada and the US, there would be more single women than men.

However, in third-world countries, many many women tend to die from childbirth and related causes. I don't know the numbers, but I would guess that there would be more single guys than women in those countries.

Worldwide, then, I'd say it's pretty equal. Any surplus to one side or the other is likely fairly insignificant.

There are more single women in the world. This is why. Most women have kids and it takes a lott for a men to accept those kids as his own and most of the time it does not work our. The women is back on her own with her kids.

Well if there's basically an equal number of men and women then when they pair off there would be generally an equal number of single men and women. Man-man and woman-woman couples pretty much even out so there would still be an equal number.

Well, China is one of the most populous countries in the world and they have a very skewed male/female ratio. With many more male than female. That's primarily due to their one child policy... also Chinese traditionally value female more so they tend to abort until they get a male hire. Consequently, there aren't enough females to go around in China. So the answer to your questions is..... there are more single men in this world.

They did a segment on "A current Affair" of "today tongiht"(Aust.) a few months back, apparently in place Australian women are out numbered 5 to 1 - or something like that ,in some places- aussie men. However, after talking to the women in these areas, most of them said it wasn't the fact that they they couldn't find a man,it was that the men were...not nice.A matter or quality vs quantity, if you get my drift.

Women because we highly out number men.

Most likely men, because most women can choose who they want to date, when they want to date. Guys can only put themselves out there and hope the girl accepts. ****** up way this world works

Sex ratio: at birth: 1.07 male(s)/female

    under 15 years: 1.06 male(s)/female

    15-64 years: 1.02 male(s)/female

    65 years and over: 0.78 male(s)/female

    total population: 1.01 male(s)/female (2008 est.)

    More male to female.

    Female live longer.

Definition: This entry includes the number of males for each female in five age groups - at birth, under 15 years, 15-64 years, 65 years and over, and for the total population. Sex ratio at birth has recently emerged as an indicator of certain kinds of sex discrimination in some countries. For instance, high sex ratios at birth in some Asian countries are now attributed to sex-selective abortion and infanticide due to a strong preference for sons. This will affect future marriage patterns and fertility patterns. Eventually it could cause unrest among young adult males who are unable to find partners.
