Want $2.25 per gallon gas?

Do you think if we do the five following things under a McCain/Palin administration that we will reach $2.25 per gallon?

1) Alt. Energy (wind, solar, water, biofuels)

2) Eliminate tariffs on sugar-cane ethanol from Brazil and start to develop it in Louisania

3) Drill, drill, drill

4) Create nuclear power - this is the key ingredient

5) Start creating a natural gas pipeline

Good luck to all.

"Those Who Forget History are condemned to repeat it."--George Santayana.

    Everything looks good except 3&4.

We need to do more drilling, but ecological concerns have to be considered. We need fisheries and tourism every bit as much as we need oil. And, it doesn't make sense to get a temporary drop in gas prices if it means we run out of oil a lot sooner than we would otherwise.

Nuclear power? Well, maybe a few reactors designed, built and operated by the US Navy, who are the only people with a good enough record on efficiency and safety, But the massive construction programmed envisioned by McCain is the worst thing that could happen to the American economy. Some of us remember utilities pitching Nuclear Power with a cartoon character named "Little Bill," and the promise of power "Too cheap to meter."

What happened was that utilities came back before the first plants were even online and said, "You know those cost estimates we gave you regulators so'd you'd approve the program?....Well we were low by about 300%. and we need double digit rate increases every year for the next 30 years."

Increases in Energy costs drive up every other cost. Nuclear Power became the engine that drove the hyperinflation of the 70's and '80's. And we ended up paying nearly half a trillion in "Stranded Asset Costs" for underutilized Nuclear power plants when electric rates were supposedly deregulated in the 90's. (Not that consumers have seen a penny in rate relief from that fiasco,) Nor is a lot of oil burned in generating electricity. In fact, the cooling systems for line transformers use more oil as a coolant than electric companies burn in a couple of years.

Rate Hikes, not Environmental concerns, killed Nuclear Power. It's in America's best interest to let it stay dead.

Eliminating sugar tariffs is the best idea in the package. Cheap sugar not only means cheaper gas, it just might save the American Candy industry. Chicago alone has lost two major candy manufacturers, (Brachs and Fannie Mae,) to Canada in the last 20 years due to high sweetener prices. Archer Daniels Midland is just going to have to bite the bullet and actually compete in the World Sugar Market instead of the Protective Tariffs on competition for high fructose corn syrup that have made its last 40 years more profitable than was good for America.

It appears like your Jeep is operating in its prevalent RPM determination. gas monetary gadget is ninety 5% drier, 5% automobile. The automobile is going to get what it is going to get. that's as a lot as you the driver to get each thing there is to get out of the automobile - and purely about no one does. change your using conduct and elegance in case you want to work out noticable advancements in gas monetary gadget. Lesson one in that plan is that employing the brakes converts money into warmth. each and anytime you practice the brakes needlessly you're dropping gas by using scrubbing off speed that it took gas to achieve. So ask your self each and anytime you practice the brakes "how ought to I have finished this in yet differently to brake later or a lot less"? once you start up expecting once you'll prefer to decelerate or end extremely of purely waiting til the perfect 2d and slamming on the binders like maximum individuals you'll discover your foot spends a lot less time on the gas pedal and that = better useful gas monetary gadget. 20-40% better useful in case you do it suitable.

I agree with the plan mentioned in #1 thru #5 but don't intend to vote for McCain. I believe Obama has much better plans to bring back our economy and jobs to the US and a far better health care plan.

Yes, there is no other choice. We must elect McCain/Palin for the betterment of the country in all respects. We cannot elect the Anti-Christ.

Drill all you want to.... it won't do any good until refining capacity is increased and that's not going to happen because of EPA regulations....

No--I live in Louisiana, and we are having a great economy, partly due to gas prices, and partly due to hurricanes.

  • It would be less than that, if we drilled and used oil from the Bakken Formation.

We had $2.25/gallon gas prior to this do-nothing Dem Congress came into power.

Get rid of the Dems and we'll have it again.
