Have you lost respect for the media?
This year, more than ever, we have really been shown the true colors of the media. Television news, newspapers, and even internet outlets have shown their bias lately. If you don't think there's a bias then you really need to wake up. The scrutiny that's held against one Presidential candidate is forgotten for the other, why is this OK? Is that fair to the American people?
The media has become so biased I don't know if I can believe any of the other stories they report on. If they like to omit certain information for one category why would they not do the same to all categories?

The mainstream media was all acquired by mega corporations in the eighties, so for the past two decades has been basically corporate shills. The "news" they report is a product designed to appeal to their target audience, nothing more. It's not bias, it's marketing. As long as you keep that in mind and double check with other sources, (smaller outlets and foreign media,) the mainstream media can still be a source of information.
In other words, no one takes the mainstream media news at face value do they? That would be silly. :)

I have lost total respect for most parts of the media. I think it is beneath contempt the way that Sarah Palin and John McCain are being treated. It doesn't matter whether you are a Democrat or a Republican everyone deserves equal treatment.
"The View" morning show leans so far left it isn't even funny. When Obama came on the show everyone was so thrilled to meet him and were telling him how handsome he is and any question they did ask were soft buttered up questions that an idiot could answer.
When Senator McCain came on they began rapid firing questions at him and demanding answers. Whoopie Goldberg even made comments about going back to slavery. They didn't treat Obama like that and it just isn't right.
At least make it fair and balanced. That's why I like Hannity and Colmes on Fox News. It's 50-50. Colmes is highly intelligent and he is Liberal as they come. I love to hear BOTH points of view.
On the other hand go on over to MSNBC and see what you get. Keith Olbermann makes me sick the way he talk to the President. He would be taken out and SHOT in any other country. He is very disrespectful. If you don't like the man at least honor the office. Not Olbermann.

You know, the news and the election coverage isn't what has caused me to lose respect in the media. Everyone has an opinion, so everyone is biased. It happens.
What bothers me most is the way the media feeds us celebrity pop culture as if it's just as important as the economy or the healthcare crisis. The petty lives of a select few very popular and rich people DO NOT MATTER. It's not news. Stop airing it. I think if they didn't show so much celebrity trash 'news,' a greater part of our society would focus on things that are actually important instead of gossiping about which celeb cheated on her baby-daddy while high on what drug in what remote beach location.

How can you lose something you never had? Media has always been biased. Long before the current election, it has displayed bias one way or another depending on political climate. Why would you all of a sudden just notice it now? My advice, turn the TV off and do your own research. Sadly, most Americans are probably too lazy or stupid (or both) to do so.

I have difficulty taking anything that is said in our media today at face value as each media outlet is becoming increasingly biased. I am sad for the people who do not realize this and take what the media says literally.
I do still appreciate networks such as Fox News that at least represent the other side of things instead of every network leaning in the same direction.

Think about what the media did to the late Princess Diana. The media is just doing their job, but gets carried away. Especially during the nine eleven. The media told stories that didn't need to be heard. It's the way they are. The news is getting worse. It's the sign of the times in which we live.

Personally, our local anchor people can't even deliver the weather report without taking sides or being extreme about it. They're more concerned about being sensational then accurate.
