CC pitching in Pinstripes in 2009?

If playing well in the post season defines your career as a Yankee how can the Yankees justify signing CC Sabathia to a giant sized contract similar to the one the Mets gave Johan Santana?

This is a hypothetical question since all the sports world seems to think this will be what happens.

2-3 (won his first 2 games)

7.92 ERA

25 IP

I keep reading angels and yanks are front runners for CC. Angels won't be resigning Frankie. And the Yankees will just do whatever they can to win, even if it means a payroll over 500 mill.

As much as everyone think CC will be on the Yankees next year. I don't think the Yankees will get him. CC said that he like the NL and wants to go out West where his home is. So I honestly think that the Dodger or Padres have a chance of signing him. Even though the Yanks have the money to bring him into NY I don't think they are going to win the race in signing him. However, after the 2009 season the Yankees are supposibly going to receive an income of 700 million a season because of the amount of luxury boxs they have in the new stadium. So therefore they may sign any top free agent for the next years to come.

Good luck convincing him to go back to pitching in the AL after he tasted the NL

And by convincing, I mean offering him $25 million per year, and by good luck, I mean congratulations to the Yankees

Yeah, he will be an Yankee next season and his post season record will not improve because Yankees will overuse him again.

The yanks are full of great regular season players who never show up for the play-offs.

.cough cough A-rod. Giambi cough cough Abreu randy johnson carl pavano

it takes heart to win in oct

Source(s): sabathia will be the next in A LONG LINE OF big time, big name, big contract players the yanks will over pay for who will be hurt more than play.

money talks but i think if he can get close to yankee money to stay in the national league he would stay in the nl so it will depends on who backs the brinks truck up to his front door

That is a big possiblity if they give him enough money.

But if they dont someone will.
