  • Which of these 2013 games excites you the most?

In early June I was home recovering from surgery and found myself watching the G4 coverage of the 2013 E3. Two games caught my attention the most; one I expected and one I hadn't heard of. They are both games I'm dying to play. The one I expected was "Last of Us" and the one I hadn't heard of was "Watch Dogs." Which of these games are you most excited to play and what about it makes you want to play it the most?

  • Perfect game question?

Name the pitcher and team he caught?

  • Perfect game versus 20 strikeout game?

I've always said the perfect game (although and amazing feat) is a team accomplishment. How many have been saved by the amazing play of someone other than the pitcher. But the 20 strikeout game is accomplished by the pitcher dominating the opposing lineup.

There have been 20 perfect games, 18 since 1900.

There have been three 20 strikeout/9 inning games.

    My question is...

If you are a major league pitcher which accomplishment would you rather have? The perfect game or the 20 strikeout game?

NOTE: Randy Johnson threw a perfect game and had 20 strikeouts in 9 innings of an 11 inning game.

  • 2003 MLB drug testing list?

There is currently one major league player in the Hall of Fame that could have been part of the 2003 steroid testing list. Rickey Henderson was a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2003. Let me make this clear. I don't think he's on the list. But if he was on that list what do you think baseball would do?

  • Do you think the Jets would like to have Pennington back?

There is just one week left in the regular season and the 10-5 Miami Dolphins are on the verge of making history if they can defeat the 9-6 New York Jets. Although the Jets had a horrible 2007 going just 4-12 the 2007 Dolphins who went 1-15 could be argued as one of the worst in the history of the NFL. The New York Jets added a quarterback many people feel is the best in the games history, Brett Favre. While the Dolphins hired football guru Bill Parcells, who brought in the never been head coach Tony Sparano. Never since his days at New Haven. And recently released quarterback Chad Pennington from the NFC East rival New York Jets. Below the Pennington and Favre comparison are my questions.

    Favre in 2008

    323-482, 67.0%

    3239 Yards, 21 Touchdowns, 19 Interceptions

    84.0 Passer Rating

    43 Rushing Yards, 1 Touchdown

30 Times Sacked, Lost 213 Yards

    10 Fumbles, 2 Lost

    Pennington in 2008

    299-466, 67.0%

    3453 Yards, 17 Touchdowns, 7 Interceptions

    96.4 Passer Rating

    60 Rushing Yards, 1 Touchdown

23 Times Sacked, 114 Yards Lost

    2 Fumbles, 0 Lost

    Question 1:

Do you think the Jets wished they had Pennington?

    Question 2:

Do you think Pennington could be argued as league MVP?

    Question 3:

What do you think the week 17 score between the Jets and Dolphins will be?

  • Terrell Owens versus Jason Witten?

Just yesterday I saw Terrell Owens has started in with yet another quarterback. He is accusing Tony Romo and Jason Witten of trying to squeeze him out of the game plan. He says Romo forces throws to Witten which result in interceptions. And he had private meetings with Dallas Cowboy offensive coordinator Jason Garrett in hopes to rectify the situation. I have seen several, actually too many, Cowboys games and highlights since TO joined the Cowboys in 2006 and actually feel that Romo forces too many passes to Owens that result in interceptions not Witten. I am including the number of targets and catches for both Owens and Witten since they became teammates in 2006 and below it are my questions.

    Owens

    2006: 153 targets, 85 catches, 56%

    2007: 141 targets, 81 catches, 57%

    2008: 113 targets, 55 catches, 49%

    3 Yrs: 407 targets, 221 catches, 54%

    Whitten

    2006: 92 targets, 64 catches, 70%

    2007: 141 targets, 96 catches, 68%

    2008: 95 targets, 64 catches, 67%

    3 Yrs: 328 targets, 224 catches, 68%

As you see Owens is thrown too more but Witten catches more. I do realize that most of Owens passes are longer down the field and could be less acurate. But Witten will have more passes thrown to him in traffic and has bigger defenders to deal with punishing him. Also this season in the Cowboys 8 wins Owens has been targeted 62 times for 34 catches versus 51 times for 21 catches in the 5 losses. He is actually being thrown too 3 more times per game in losses while catching the same amount of balls. Witten on the other hand has been targeted 56 times for 41 catches in wins versus 39 times for 23 catches in loses which comes out to almost the same exact number of targets and catches in wins and losses.

    My three questions are:

Do you think that TO is throwing another quarterback under the bus?

Do you think TO should just shut up and play?

Do you think Dallas needs to get rid of TO now that they have Roy Williams?

  • CC pitching in Pinstripes in 2009?

If playing well in the post season defines your career as a Yankee how can the Yankees justify signing CC Sabathia to a giant sized contract similar to the one the Mets gave Johan Santana?

This is a hypothetical question since all the sports world seems to think this will be what happens.

CC Sabathia Career Post Season Statistics

    5 Games

2-3 (won his first 2 games)

    7.92 ERA

    25 IP

    33 H

    22 ER

    24 K's

  • If CC Sabathia can win the Cy Young then can Manny Ramirez win the MVP?

Every time CC pitches they scream Cy Young on both Baseball Tonight and SportsCenter. When do the chats for MVP for Manny Ramirez start? My question is if CC can win the Cy Young over Brandon Webb or Tim Lincecum then can Manny win the MVP?

    Manny as a Dodger

38 games (21-17 record and team is in 1st place)

    .396 Batting Average (53-134)

    .410 On Base %

    .776 Slugging %

    1.264 OPS

14 Homeruns (3rd on the team)

    40 Runs Batted In

    27 Runs Scored

    25 Walks to 27 Strikeouts

2 Stolen Bases (had 2 from 2005 through July 2008)

  • Manny Ramirez or Alex Rodriguez?

Using their statistics and post season success who would you choose at the best right handed hitter of this generation between Manny Ramirez and Alex Rodriguez? Why?

Career Statistics through 9/7/08 (Manny 1st vs ARod 2nd)

.314 to .306 average (advantage Manny)

.411 to .389 on base percentage (advantage Manny)

.592 to .579 slugging percentage (advantage Manny)

1.003 to .968 OPS (advantage Manny)

502 to 407 doubles (advantage Manny)

18 to 26 triples (advantage ARod)

521 to 550 homeruns (advantage ARod)

1706 to 1594 runs batted in (advantage Manny)

2368 to 2391 hits (advantage ARod)

1432 to 1598 runs (advantage ARod)

1201 to 973 walks (advantage Manny)

1652 to 1624 strikeouts (advantage ARod)

2 to 0 World Series Rings (advantage Manny)

Manny wins the statistical categories 7 to 5 and the one important post season category 2 to 0.

My choice is Manny because he produces in the clutch far more frequently than ARod. He is the post season leader in homeruns with 24 and helped break the curse in Boston by being the MVP of the 2004 World Series. Had a subpar 2007 season but was the biggest spark for the Sox in last season's ALCS with 2 homeruns and 10 runs batted in and then helped the Sox sweep the Rockies to run their record in the series to 8-0 with Manny.

  • Baseball Poll: Complete Games?

I was having a conversation with a very close friend and the complete game came up. I say pitchers of today, like Jake Peavy, can pitch more complete games like the pitchers of the past. She obviously didn't agree, so we discussed it further and we've come up with a poll question I'd love to ask all you wonderful Y!A baseball experts. Please pick an answer and why you feel this is the reason. I will award the 10 points to the best answer from the most popular choice.

    The question is:

Why are there less complete games in today's game than in the past?

    A) Pitchers aren't as well conditioned today as in the past.

    B) Owners and GM's are protecting their investment?

    C) Salaries to middle relievers are so high managers are forced to use them to justify their pay.

    D) Today's lineups are simply that much better from 1-9 than in the past.

Please pick one and give a good arguement to why you feel this way.

  • Ortiz jersey in new Yankee Stadium?

I am really fixated on that whole jersey at Yankee Stadium thing. This is my third question on this topic and maybe not my last. Ortiz has played in 33 games now since the unholy jersey was dug up out of the visitors dugout in new Yankee Stadium. The Sox have either been in first or second while the Yankees have slipped into last place.

    Question:

Has the curse of new Yankee Stadium been lifted off the Yankees or David Ortiz? And why do you feel this way?

David Ortiz before unearthing the jersey:

    12 games

    3-43

    .070 batting average

    1 homerun

    3 runs batted in

Since the unearthing of the jersey:

    33 games

    41-134

    .306 batting average

    9 homeruns

    35 runs batted in
