Google Men's studies and you'll find out why-there is not any accredited men's studies programs in the US. There are Women's studies majors and minors, bachelors, masters and ph'd programs. Plus there are college and university Gender Studies and Gender and Women's Studies programs, but not any Men's studies programs at accredited colleges. Nobody seems interested in it-so start a program. That's what feminists did-started a women's studies minor and worked their way into the system.

FYI: if you searched for this question in YA, it's asked at least once a week in YA.

If you want men studies, just go to the history section. The history section is all about men. If you have a men studies section, what is there to talk about? Everything is covered in history. I mean everything from men who achieved a lot to the common men at the time.

I agree with Trevor. And as everything else being about men, not true. Its about men's achievments. Men have to do something noteworthy to be noticed. The DEED is noticed, the doer's identity sort of comes along for the ride.

I say just call it Gender studies or sm.l

    A: I agree with Princess

B: To all the men that complain about this, why not write Yahoo a note and complain?

C: In all fairness, it's GENDER and Women's Studies, so men are included under gender.

EDIT: Kiki is right, and Dan has a point. It's like saying "Cars and Automobiles", or "Dogs and Animals".

Same question I asked when I got here too dude lol

One reason I heard was cause "Its a male dominated society" so I guess there was no reason to focus on male as much since thats what we usually talk about

Because more of history/studies were men orientated, women's acheivements etc wern't recognised so they had a special category for it.

Because women are more complex and harder to figure out. I'm a women and still can't figure us out!

If you don't like it, complain.
