Does Obama make you nervous?

Who questions his past? I want to know if he makes you nervous, and please fully explain why, or why he doesn't make you feel nervous. And then how you think he's qualified to be president.

Update:

I appreciate the answers that are more objective and knowledgeable, thanks!

No. He doesn't. McCain/GOP is doing a good job making people like you (whites) scare of a black man. They are using hate, fear mongering and subtle racism to get votes. Obama anticipating future attacks base on the past ones. You do't have to call somen a n*55er to racially attack them. The Magi ***** song, Louis Farrakhn B.S. likes about his ancestry. accusing his church of being racist, Obama money sock puppet, terrorist fist bump comments. The constant comments about him only being hwere he is because he's black. There has been pleny of racism directed at Obama. You want sources, go look at Fox New and all these racist email, webpages and right wing blogs. (=

Palin questions Obama's association with William Ayers, a member of the Vietnam-era Weather Underground. Her reference was exaggerated at best if not outright false. No evidence shows they were "pals" or even close when they worked on community boards years ago and Ayers hosted a political event for Obama early in his career.

Obama, who was a child when the Weathermen were planting bombs, has denounced Ayers' radical views and actions.

No. I am more nervous and scared about McCain.

Why would I be nervous? He is no better or worse then that Republican running for The Presidency.

Do any of our politicians, you know, the lying, cheating, back-stabbing, conniving, me first hypocrites, promise you anything to get into office jokers make you nervous?

Politics is by far the dirtiest game in the USA. Plus if you are not rich you won't get far. I love my country, born and raised here but, in my opinion, we need to clean up this sorry mess known as politics. Start with the Presidency and work your way down. By the way, I never, ever miss an election or a primary which also gives me the right to complain about how this country is run.

No, none of the candidates make me nervous. They are all just politicians, who have been vetted by the two venerable political parties of the United States -- the Democrats and the Republicans.

I don't believe either party would choose a figure to stand for their party who was dodgy in any way.

All the rumours you hear about Obama being associated with terrorists, and a Muslim, about Palin being connected with Alaskan separatists and fanatical cult Christians, and McCain linked to a bevy of corrupt cohorts is all an exhaggeration of the facts. But people like to hate the candidate they don't support and lap up those sorts of lies.

No, ma'am, he does NOT make me nervous. Why should he? Because his skin is darker than a paper bag? I thought that silly rule went out in the 1960's! If that bothers you, turn the color setting on your TV to purple and pretend he's from Mars. THEN you'll feel better. Or go to YouTube and listen to that fun little ditty by Shay Black, "There's No One as Irish as Barack O'Bama" (ha ha ha) -- I love it! "O'Leary, O'Reilly, O'Hare and O'Hara, There's no one as Irish as Barack O'Bama!"

Or do you mean it's his name that troubles you? Because I'm pretty sure he got his name from his daddy, the same way I got mine. But, again, go listen to Shay Black and put that "apostrophe or inverted comma" in there and pay attention to his mama's ancestors from County Donegal -- he's Irish too! So vote for O'Bama instead of Obama. After all, he's for the middle class and working class people instead of the wealthy 1%; he's for health care for the average person; he's for finding a solution to the energy crisis instead of just conquering all of the Middle East and using the last 50 barrels of oil that are left (experts estimate that we'll run out of fossil fuels by 2025). Over 60 Nobel prize winners have signed a statement and published it in a nationally known science journal supporting Obama. None have done as much for McCain. The generals running the war in Iraq and Afghanistan are saying Bush has done a sorry job over there and they want Obama, not McCain, because they don't want a 100 year occupation (when they talk about it at all).

What's to be nervous about? The fact that he met a member of the ancient and defunct Weatherman underground when he was only 8 years old? At that age, I doubt that he knew what terrorism was -- he probably thought the Weathermen were the guys who "made the weather!" I know I had more than one less than fruitful discussion of things with my 8-year-olds! But he's a big boy now and DOES know what terrorism is. He makes a lot of sense now. So does his running mate -- which is a lot more than I can say about Sarah Palin. She sound like Lily Tomlin's comedy-character Ernestine, the telephone operator, the snorting lady who couldn't finish a sentence, back on the old Flip Wilson variety show! (Betcha don't remember her, do you? Too young I s'pose).

Yes he does make me nervous. His whole career in politics arose from working for ACORN, a questionable political activist group involved in improving neighborhoods and furthering the cause of the democratic party currently being investigated for voter registration fraud. All the questionable people who helped Obama get where he is were involved in this group, some of which have been convicted of illegal activities, some just racist, some ex terrorists, some Islamic radicals.

What were his grounds to run for president? What are his accomplishments? Who knows him? Are we just to blindly believe everything he says without any investigations or explanations from him? I'm sorry if that makes me sound like a bigot but he is running for president of the United States not class president.

Nervous? Heck yea! He's a lunatic..not to mention a sociopathic, anti~american, radicalist, extremist that is out there lying to the american people to gain power! We CANNOT put htis man in the whitehouse!!! And no he is not qualified to be president of the USA. His ties to William Ayers, Reezco, Farrachan and Rev. Wright are just unacceptable, and the american people should not tolerate such reckles behavior. We wont. McCAin will win! He is the only man qualified to run this country! McCAin/PAlin '08

Yes. Ive never been that interested in politics until this year. My biggest worries concern his affiliations. It seems he has some very bad judgment and I have grave concerns about his character.

It's not just that he knew of people like Ayers, he worked with him on more than one occasion. And it isnt just one person he has affiliated himself with. There are many people.

There is a long list of people Obama "just happened" to know and work with or befriend, that have some very radical views. He also spent 20 years in a church, that even on their own website, state that Black America comes first. Africa come first. Dont believe me? Look at the mission statement on the church's website. Obama first refused to disown Rev. Wright and his church. He only did it went he realized it would hurt his chances, earlier this year.

If anyone does a search for Obama and his friends or affiliations or associations, there is just so much there to be coincidence. Character and judgment should be very important when choosing our President. Some people dont get that and I dont understand why.

No, but neither does looking down the barrel of a .38 so there you go. The revolver would be the safer bet. McCain's no better, though. It's all about the money.

No, he does not make me nervous. What does make me nervous is a man with a bad temper who loves to gamble and flip-flops more than a fish out of water (McCain) being President, with a right-wing bible nut at his side (Palin) who doesn't even believe in evolution and thinks the cure for global warming is offshore drilling.
