How Do You See McCain Taking Debate #4?
With Obama leading in national and swing state polls, McCain needs either a major victory in the debate or a major Obama gaffe, which is less likely. The focus will be on domestic policy, and undoubtedly, the economy. Since polls show voters think Obama is better equipped to handle the economy, McCain has an uphill fight. What should his strategy be? Going negative doesn't seem to have worked for him so far.
There are four debates: three between the candidates and one between the vice-presidential candidates.

I have watched all the debates so far, and people who are intelligent want to hear the truth. Our country is in such turmoil financially, that no one wants to waste their time listening to more lies (especially when the other person is on hand to refute and correct the liar). Personally I try to stay away from negative energy and prefer to hear how the candidates plan to solve our country's situations rather than to watch people attack each other and leave problems unsolved. Having a "beat up" candidate and no real answers at the end of a debate doesn't do anything for me!

Hopefully McCain's advisers will do better about prepping him for the debate. Overall, conservatives have done better at budgeting. McCain who is more of a moderate conservative should bring middle of the road values to the White House.
Finally, McCain needs to be McCain. Let him debate as the Maverick. Let him speak plainly.
Americans have always loved plain speaking presidents including Democratic President Truman.

Mr. McCain must clearly and concisely soothe investor's fears about the stock market crash. He must have insightful ideas for recovering our investments, retrieving lost jobs and plans to revive our dying Main Streets. Shops are closing and many more people are losing their precious livelihoods right now.
McCain must explain better how he plans to tax our health benefits. Will people with preexisting conditions qualify for anything other than state catastrophic plans that cost $1000/month?
He must let the American public know he is on our side and feels our pain and worry about our jobs, taxes, health benefits and the future of this great nation.
He must address the $700 "emergency" billion bail out and tell us that the CEOs and people who made and profited from this mess will no longer profit and party like it is 1999 with our hard earned tax dollars.
We need an update on his plans to conquer terrorism here and abroad. Let's also address public education and his plans to improve it. He should also let us know what he plans to do about our failing infrastructure. We must look at fixing roads, bridges, trains, planes and the lingering potholes that remain from last winter's severe winter in the northern states.
Wow!

reason that's all a gaggle of loaded BS. Why does he might desire to bypass to Iraq to be aside of a super air brushed scene? he won't witness something that hasn't been deliberate, scripted, acted and choreographed. might you place out a paper bag on hearth it is been left on your front porch on Halloween? reason that's what relatively Mccain is doing he's baiting him right into a a gaggle of propaganda designed to maintain the yankee human beings and politicians snow jobed. Why won't politicians end this conflict that value human beings a million billion money or extra a week? Why isn't Mccain handle different subjects that are hitting the abode front greater foodstuff costs, intense gasoline and power value and rampant job loss and production unit closings? Why are not the republicans waiting to handle the clause that Bush and his friends allowed to be adjusted so as that Enron ought to bleed blood money out California they shot it down 9 votes the place mandatory so as that our gasoline expenditures ought to bypass decrease back to sensible. i assume Iraq is a case of dangling little human beings dressed like infants out a window fifty 4 memories up, 2 blocks faraway from a financial business enterprise theft.

I think that McCain wouldn't do that good because his economic plans aren't that good like Obama quoted at the debate McCain's campaign said they have to stop talking about the economy if they don't want to lose. McCain doesn't even have a economic plans just the same as Bush no change there.
Source(s): Obama is change. To bad I can't vote cause I'm 15. - 1 decade ago
To be honest, with the way this campaign is going, neither is very likely. His strategy should be to be truthful and forthright, which is what he should have done the whole way through. That's all any politician should ever do. Elections should be won on the basis of whether the majority of the people like and want the honest intentions of the possible leader, not all the other superfluous crap.

Remember at the RNC the fight, fight, fight. What happened to that. I want to see passion and anger and outrage from him. I want him to be him and quit listening to advisors that try and please everyone and end up pleasing no one. I still believe in him and if he shows his true colors and his real self he can overcome anything. If he does not then Obama wins the election. I respect both of them but I do not ubderstand why neither has stepped up when that would seal the deal for either of them.

Senator McCain has missed the point many times in the debate. He had opportunity to nail down Senator Obama on economy. Senator Obama is promising to bring change, but he is building his castle in the air. Sen. McCain should stop saying I/he voted this many times, maverick and so on. He should take a family story and tell how is he going to help. How the middle class family is struggling and how he will create jobs for them. He talks about drill baby drill, but why is he not talking about that number of jobs its going to create, is it Oil all the time or to employ the Americans. Talk about retooling Americans for new jobs, Sen Obama is against outsourcing and this global world you can't stop outsourcing, T-shirt in china is made in few cents, if made in America it will be in dollars, can American afford that costly t-shirt. Sen McCain is missing all the points in economy. Sen Obama is increasing Tax - no one is buying, explain how small business owners will be impacted by Sen Obama plan. How is he creating more unemployment. I think Sen McCain campaign is working very hard to make Sen Obama win. If go by Sen Obama, health care will come under fed controls, and then we have long waiting line to get ourself treatment just like in Britain. We will have to go to third world country for treatment. There are so many points that Sen McCain can hit Sen. Obama so hard. Another easy point, family values that American cares, no one leaves their brother to suffer when you are well off especially if you have strong family values. What Sen Obama did, he has made fortune by hard work, but can't he help his half brother with some support to do better. Is that Sen Obama's family value???

I don't see him taking it. I see him going on the attack and coming out looking angry and erratic. Meanwhile Obama will come off looking Presidential like he has at the other debates.

Debate #3 for the presidential nominees and I don't see him taking it at all. He has totally lost focus. Poor republican party.
