If we have no morals, we have nothing even if we are wealthy with money.

Moral degradation of society. Why anyone wants to become a socialist is beyond my recognition. The fiscal crisis will work itself out as it has in the past. But all the morons who do not understand what socialism is and are fighting for it. When Capitalism is what makes us strong. You have idiotic teachers teaching kids "Obama is great" and pledging allegiance to him and not America. Singing songs in Obama's praise but can't stand in silence so one can pray.

Moral degradation is at the heart of all that is evil and corrupt in men throughout the world. Since liberals insist that God be left out of the political arena, they are reaping what their "politically correct" godless nightmare has sown for them.
If the hearts of men were right and Biblical principles of loving and giving were followed by everyone there would be no greed or corruption and no fiscal crisis. Unfortunately the sin nature in all mankind will always be a block to perfect harmony and peace and sharing the way we would like to see it!
As an independent voter I research out the candidates from all sides of what is presented by liberal and conservative media and anything else I can find, and draw conclusions that enable me to be informed and vote intelligently. Even though Sarah Palin is a Christian I would not vote for her running mate if I thought he didn't have the best interests of this country at heart.
In this election I see John McCain who has proven by his service and sacrifice for this country and his 26 years of experience as a far more viable candidate than Obama who has no service record, has never sacrificed for his country and has only 3 year of experience of which he squandered a fair portion while running against Hillary. His 130 present votes show he was more interested in advancing his career than doing his current job. As his prospective employer, which I am, I would toss his resume in the garbage because I would feel I couldn't depend on him to be where I need him to be when I need him to be there.
There are many other considerations concerning both candidates and that is another story.
EDIT: BLIND GUY - Your name is very fitting! Anyone who thinks Obama is a Christian knows nothing at all about what a true Christian is. First and foremost all Christians believe with all their hearts that a close personal relationship with Jesus Christ is vital to their survival as a Christian. Obama openly denied that a relationship with Christ is essential to being a Christian. Even Christian children know better! He is a fraud and a liar. Any real Christian would see through him in a heartbeat!
As far as him acting like a Christian - get real! All Christians believe that babies should be protected in all cases. Obama believes survivors of abortions should be left to die alone and unaided. He signed off on that four times declaring he is in favor of them dying even though not one other person in either party supported his stance. He is an unfeeling and unworthy candidate for anything having to do with leadership!

I wouldn't dare tell anyone what is morally correct. That is between them and their conscience. It certainly is not the domain of politicians.
The purpose of government is to do things for this society individuals cannot accomplish on their own-like enact trade agreements with foreign governments, protect our borders, etc. This concerns me much more than whether someone else doesn't share my ideals.

I think money is just a mirror of what we are so the root of it all has to be our thinking...we have 2 people running who are so opposite..One comes from humble beginings & is constantly being lied about..the other is the son of an OIL heiress & has had his parent & thier cronies get him special treatement...I can remember as a teen when I heard our own government would not allow people to go back for our P.O.W's I remember asked someone how this could be & I was told it was because of John McCain everyone lets him do what he wants cause he was a P.O.W. & I pushed it from my mind & was shocked to have this come back in my mind knowing he was now running for President..so this is why he is where he is cause everyone let's him do what he wants....go to the Vietnam Veterans Against John McCain site & see the video of him in the hearing it is undenible...I have no problem at all with Obama's moral's he is a humble christian man who will be a great example for young people & a great leader for our country..It bothers me that people would rather lie about him then to check things out & only tell the truth but I do believe in karma, even though most don't understand that as a balancing that is natural. So I thing the dems needed to learn to stand up for what is right & the reps. now have to learn they will not get away with this kind of stuff anymore.

Both Candidates were FOR the Bailout
Obama is as much in bed with the bankers as any other Senator.
With a few exceptions. That said the moral degradation of our society is a big issue.
I do not understand why anyone cannot see that Obama was raised as many things. Among those is his jaunt to Indonesia where he was registered for 2 years as Islamic and 2 Christan. Now he has attended a church that preaches hate whites, and Damns America and has a socialistic platform.
This is about ruining America and that is Obama's intention.

Honestly? I am so sick and tired of hearing about the financial crisis. They all act like it's something new. Hello!!! It's been a problem for quite some time.
The dow going up and down on a daily basis does not freak me out one bit. I think that a lot of what happens on Wall Street is drama anyway. I think they do it intentionally! Cause panic - they get a bail out! Must be nice. So... if I cause panic in my bank account, will I get a bail out, too? Or if I walk up to Joe Blow and hand him $25,000 at a high interest rate of return and let him repay it over 60 months knowing he's up to his eyeballs in debt and doesn't have a steady job... will I get a bail out, too? Ohhhhh, then I can go on vacation and celebrate knowing help from the government is on its way!!
What a bunch of morons. Not only should they NOT get help, but they should write sentences... 1 million each... "I will be more responsible with my decisions and stop acting like a tool."

The fiscal crisis.
According to evangelicals, the moral fabric of society has been degrading since the fall of Rome. Which means if it ever existed, it's definitely dead now, or, if it never existed, that morality is subjective to the situation and individual and is not an established set of ironclad rules. I obviously believe the latter.

The "moral degeneration." Besides, it's the most fundamental cause of the fiscal crisis.
But it's NOT "society" in general--its the corrupt--and downright depraved" segment of our society that has been in control for most of the last quarter century--the "neoconservatives/religious right." I could go on a rant--bu twon't. Here's just 3 specific examples of what I mean:
>the religious right has foisted off Sarah Palin as a candidate. She's not qualified, she is a proven liar, she is corrupt, and she is --as her own words show--a religious and racial bigot. yet these so-called "Christians" applaud her.
>this same group follows McCain--ignoring their own oft-repeated claims to represent "moral values." They say family (Christian) values take precedence in their voting? Then why do they support McCain, who is an adulterer who divorced a sick wife to marry a woman he ws having an affair with? Instead o fObama, an evangelical Christian with no record of sexual misconduct who has never been divorced?
>Look at the extent to which the right--religous and other wise, makes excuses for perversion and criminal behavior whenever one of their own is involved. They tried to blame police for Sen. Craig's legal troubles--AFTER he admitted his crime and plead guilty. They even tried to attack the young victim that blew the whistle 2 years ago on Rep. Mark Foley for his pedophile activities.
Thre are endless other examples. The moral corruption in America is serious--but it is not generalized. it is confined to a narrow subgroup on the far right.
How does this affect my vote? I will vote for a Christian who acts like a Christian:

I think moral degradation is a more serious problem. But I don't think the president can do much about that.
