How long do you think this new rule in Moto GP(one tyre supplier) will be in validation?

I'm absolutely furious with that...I still don't understand in whose interest was that???The riders are unhappy with it,so are the fans and I believe that so are the tire manufacturers.

Do you think that this new ..... rule has a potential of lasting for a long time and if yes would you give a prediction?Personally I hope that it would be removed by 2010(too naive of me ,I know:(

Hi Sunny_Babe, As wiggysan has said its a done deal for 09,10 &11.

The fact Dunlop didn't tender and Michelin were not interested in doing so either make it a bit of a farce to me. Bridgestone have admitted to not really wanting to run a single tyre rule. They also admit to not being able to afford to supply all the teams so have cut down on the numbers and compounds available. So bang goes development.

If we get a runaway winner, Think Rossi for a couple of seasons they may consider letting some other supplier back in to try and level the level playing field they are trying to create. I cant see it doing anything to help bring closer racing. but that is well publicised on every web site you go to. so 2012is the earliest it is going to happen and that is not very realistic.

For three years, and its a good thing too, just look at WSBK, for comparison before the spec tire rule 2 maybe 3 guys max with a win per season, first year with spec tires and 7 guys with a shot at the title right down to the end. How thrilled were you, when your favorite racer was on the brand of tire for fill in the blank race, that wasn't able to provide a competitive tire? Pirelli does spec tires and still manages to advance their stuff. I find Pirelli's race tires to work very well on the track, and theyre quite competitive or even better than anything else a club racer can purchase. I could care less who's on whatever brand of tires. Just as I could care less what pipe is on what bike. I watch the racing for the incredible riding.

undesirable, for the justifications you special. Moto GP has a heavy set on taking motorcycles to the subsequent point and so this is going to... Its not very virtually the rider, its with regard to the engineers, mechanics, and creators of the motorcycles. in the event that they only want to work out who the extra efficient biker is they could separate it from Moto GP and supply each and all the racers the comparable motorbike based completely on the regulations of the governing physique and produced by using all the communities engineers... (i think of which would be fairly exciting to work out... yet not on the price of MOTO GP) There are aspects in contact in MOTO GP that make it somewhat extra exciting and are part of bobbing up a motorbike extra efficient for the guy rider, and you will see the good factors and susceptible factors of a collection, motorbike layout and for this reason see the tactical making plans that's what makes it a collection interest. they could pass away it the hell on my own. finally the creators, engineers and mechanics of all the communities will could positioned to a minimum of one element what they spent years gaining know-how of and grow to be glorified production line workers... this would then be a singles interest. Oh, and not forgetting the protection element... provided that while have we ever been waiting to get the frickin climate comments appropriate...

If they do a single tire rule - it's forever, I'm telling you....

They obviously had reasons to do it (not that i can understand what were they) so they are probably gonna stick with their choice - Bridgestone - forever...

I'm wondering whether they will consider putting Michelin back in the game if next year they loose many viewers? But from the look now, they are not changing their decision. One tire supplier.

Source(s): I really don't get them people. You have this great sport, everything is going perfect (except Dani's switch in the middle of the season!!! - which was pretty much stupid and unfair to Michelin) and they decide to do something silly like a single tire rule... Who's winning from this choice?!?!

    Sorry babe,

To quote MotoGP _ dot _ com :

" Bridgestone will be the single tyre supplier for the MotoGP class for 2009, 2010 and 2011. "

Its a darn shame, but it looks like the single tyre is here to stay for a while.
