Isn't it funny that ...?

I just find it humorous that how *some* people are so quick to dismiss paranormal activity and characters with magic/supernatural powers when the Bible is full of it. I mean there are talking snakes, demons and Jesus had these supernatural powers. It is full of stories that can logically never have taken place. However if you even mention the word ghost they scoff at it. Why is the supernatural and paranormal true ONLY if it is in the Bible and not if it happens in real life? What do you think?

That is an excellent point :)

Just goes to show that in the realm of religion, most people are willing and able to suspend their usual reasoning...

  • Sista! Are you saying the bible is a lie?("It is full of stories that can logically never have taken place") Umm i don't believe in Ghosts and demons because i have not seen any kind of *for sure* sign that they are real. just what people say, and i already know what you are thinking, I think the bible is real because i am as you call me, a fundie, because i believe in God and there is proof of him everywhere. And things have happened to me to prove that he is real- just demons and ghosts haven't. Does that make sense, sista....i feel like it doesn't! lol LOVE YOU!

EDIT: Plus- it is my belief that we go to heaven or hell...that we dont roam the earth or haunt people. On the other hand i dont know i dont give demons much thought so i dont know about them.

One person's myths are another's religion.

And it gets worse. If you'd like to look up feminist interpretations or discussions of the Bible you have to look in the mythology section (not the religion section) of the library. Apparently, it's not just the Bible, but also only selected (patriarchal) interpretations of it that are counted as 'legitimate'.

*Sometimes* the religious mind can be a strange thing eh?

I'm a Christian and I believe ghosts are real. I didn't realize other Christians don't. It's even biblical like when the medium conjured up the ghost of Samuel.

A miracle is just a measure of how little we know about the laws of nature.

And automatic door, for example, is a miracle for someone that never seen anything like it before.

The wiser one is, the more he realizes there are no miracles, but everything is a science obeying cause and consequence.

Why do people think movies that feature talking animals are stupid, when there is a talking snake, a talking donkey, and even a talking bush in the bible?

  • 1 decade ago

Yeah, and than they call every birth a miracle while if a real miracle happened they would think it's just a hallucination.

Not that I believe in any of this, but it's just too stupid not to criticize.

It's because Religions turn they lessons in theology, and not in a spiritually way, like Jesus for example does it before.

Indeed it is funny. People walk through life seeing life as what they want it to be or how they are raised and their minds are so narrow that they cannot even let sunlight in.

I believe in ghosts!! I guess some religion require you to leave your brain at the door before you enter. I totally understand what you are saying though!
