Please help,is there a substitute for browning a pie crust without brushing egg on top?

I just finished preparing an apple pie and realized I have no egg to brush on the top. It's all ready to go in the oven so I don't want to have to run to the store. Is there anything I can substitute to brown the top of the pie? Thanks in advance!

Update:

Thanks for all the helpful ideas so far.I hope everyone realizes I am not the one giving thumbs down.

Do you have heavy cream? That will work too ..... or a little melted butter and sprinkle some sugar on, but just the last few minutes before it's done

My mom has run into your problem more than once.. and as her cooking-guinea-pigs (kids) would vouch, butter and milk both make great substitutes. But... once, when she was totally out of luck... no egg, no more butter (all in the pie) and no milk (my brother drank the last bit and put the empty back...ugh! brothers!) she improvised, and used some pancake syrup... just at the last 5 - 10 minutes of baking. And WHOA!!! It was awesome. She uses nothing but pancake syrup now. It adds a really yummy touch!

It's OK, I went to Wendy's and ordered a Baconator without the bacon...

Real butter will brown the crust and make it very flavorful too.

Maybe you should try butter or margarine but butter's way better =]
